Is it true that Redd can only visit once a month?

I saw this said on another Animal Crossing forum (I won't mention the name, in case it is not allowed), where basically people have been investigating how often Redd appears and they didn't have him appear more than once in a month. If this is true, why did they do this? There's so much art to collect and it will take years without everyone just trading art with each other.

ugh I hope thats not true... but I also havent seen him on my island since the first time he showed up honestly if his spawn rates are lower than other NPCs, I bet you it's on purpose to again, encourage online trading (so you need that online subscription!!) to collect all the art sigh.

i had him twice last month and once this month. i highly doubt its a once a month thing. he might just be very infrequent for some.

It is random, not set at once a month. I know because I time traveled 80 days in a row and only got him twice (could have been a dry spell). He is certainly the rarest of the NPCs.

Yes, without trading or time traveling it will take many years to get it all. One user had to visit Redd 116 times before collecting all the art, 10 of the times he had all fakes. You can do the math depending on if you get him once every 2 weeks on average or once a month.

I TT often in 1 day increments and then go back to the real IRL day spanning over 2 weeks. So I generally stay within a month.

I've definitely gotten him more than once this month.

I've only had him once so far, but my wife has had him twice (no time traveling). So definitely not limited to once a month.

At the rate he shows and the chances of buying a fake, my art collection in the museum should be completed somewhere around the year 2088.....

I've tt'd and I have only found him at the end of the month, once a month. Usually around the 20th-30/31st of a month. Luckily, you can farm him on that day you find him by going back and forth Forever.

No way, man. Then it would only take 2 years to complete all the art on average without TTing or trading.

There are other ways to get art though. Your villagers will rarely give you (real) art in the mail.

i hope the low/weird spawn rates are a glitch, because he's honestly one of my favorite visiting npcs. if the spawn rate is really that low then it makes no sense to balance the spawn rate by keeping you from buying more than one art piece.

I got his ship once on the 23rd April but could never find him in my town. Since then I’ve not seen him or his ship at all.

I completed my art exhibit by traveling back and forth one day. Redd's appearance is fixed but his inventory isn't, so you can buy a piece of art, travel to the next day, donate the art, go back one day, buy more art, etc., etc.
