I'm trying to get Blue Roses by myself and as far as i can tell, i already have the hybrid red roses needed. Still and after months of watering and use fertilizer none blue rose appear...

Is it really that hard, are the chances that low?

I had such a difficult time with blue roses. I tried for months and months before I got my first one. After that, I couldn't stand the thought of waiting that long to get my second, so I brought a breeding pair from someone on here.

They multiply so quickly once you get your first two, but getting to that point felt like it was taking forever.

Not sure if this is gonna help, because I don't know if it's an actual game fact or it was just a fortunate coincidence for me, but... Listen, please.

I too had such a frustrating time until I bred my first blue rose! But at some point, I got eight of the second-bred red roses and decided to try out some rumor I had read on internet. Since it was long ago that I had a perfect town score continously, a few Jacob's Ladder had appeared on my cliffs. So, I made a breeding square with those eight red roses and put a Jacob in the middle. Watered them every day with the golden can. Only 4 days later, a new blue had sprouted! While the first one had taken me almost three months.

So, the rumor was that Jacob's Ladder helped breeding. I repeat, not sure if that's what truly happened or I was just lucky, but if you have the perfect town score already and a Jacob or two, it's worth trying.

Months?! Wow, so the chances are actually really low. I'll keep trying and see if i have lucky.

Mmm... Even if the rumor is false and you were just lucky, i'll try that.

Thank you.

Blue roses are, indeed, very rare. I set everything up in my town, and it took two months of watering and fertilizing my special red roses to get my first blue rose. Then it took another four months for the second one to appear so I could have a pair to breed more with.

But I encourage you to stick with it if you want to grow your own blue roses, because there's no feeling quite like the satisfaction of seeing that first one bloom.

How did you get your hybrid red roses? We now know from the ACNH datamining that the old purple + orange method is bad because it only gives you a 25% chance at getting a viable hybrid red rose pair (a nonviable red rose pair will never ever produce a blue rose) and even if you're lucky enough to get a viable pair you still have less than a 2% chance of getting a blue rose each time. This blue rose guide is the best one I've found for ACNL and it uses a modified version of the ACNH minimum 25% success method. It's probably the best method for getting blue roses in ACNL since you can't just do mass breeding in ACNL like you can in ACNH.

In my signature, I have a link to a hybrid guide I wrote. It may be for New Horizons, but it applies to New Leaf as well due to the datamines confirming this. Hope it helps! Red Cat pretty much covered a good method, though.

The guide that I linked to is the same method as method #2 in your guide, although your guide is more visually pleasing. The biggest difference between NL and NH is you cannot clone in NL which makes the method a little more difficult (although I think it's much faster in NL due to its breeding mechanics and fertilizer). The fastest way to get the hybrid white 2 in NL is after you have a successful hybrid purple rose test from step 2, take the (hybrid) yellow offspring from the test and pair it with a regular purple rose and keep your hybrid purple paired with the seed yellow. If you get another purple from the hybrid yellow + regular purple, pair that with your hybrid purple from the other pair to try to get the hybrid white 2. If you get another yellow from the hybrid purple + seed yellow, take that and pair it with the hybrid yellow from the other pair to try for the hybrid white 2. The other change that helps in NL is taking your first hybrid red rose from step 5 and pairing it with the orange hybrid to give you a better chance at a blue or another hybrid red since you can't clone the first hybrid red rose. Once you get your first blue rose using this method, you can pair it with a hybrid red rose for a 50% chance at another blue rose.

Yeah, just figured I'd let the OP know of its existence, since they can refer to it again for other stuff, too. (y)

Thank you so much for the guides. Geez, getting blue roses is such an adventure.

All right, by following the guide now i have 6 of the 25% chance red roses.
