I was in a friends' town recently, and they somehow got all their houses lined up (except for 1). The houses were 1 space away from the western wall and the campground. Anyone know if this is possible without hacking or something? How would I do this?
basically iirc, making a new character when you'd have a new villager moving in soon on a new day (starting at 6am) and then just resetting and making another new character until the the plot for the new villager's house shows up in a desired spot
Yeah I have mine across the town map at the bottom like:
All side by side. I did not hack anything but I did a lot of plot resetting to get it that way.
Villager houses take up a 3x3 space. However, they need at least 1 free space on all sides in order to plot their houses. So really, villagers each need a 4x4 space. This means that villagers can place their houses 1 space away from trees and rocks and usually 2 spaces from other villager houses, building and some PWPs.
I?d say it?s possible to get this formation of houses without hacking but the player would have needed to have plot reset to get the villagers to move into the spaces that they wanted them in.
Plot resetting, in case you were wondering, is a method used to somewhat influence where villagers place their houses. The easiest way to do this is to cover your town in patterns making sure to only leave 3x3 spaces where you want villagers to move in. Seeing as villagers will no longer move in on top of patterns, they will only be able to place their houses in the spaces you left open for them. When a new villager is due to move in, start up the game with a new character to check the placement of the house. Doing this allows you to check that the character has indeed moved into where you want, without the changes being made permanent. If the villager hasn?t moved into the space you wanted them too, just exit the game and try again with a new character until they are in the space. Then finish the tutorial, make a new house for the character, save and quick and delete the new character. Your now free to load up the game with your current character and your villager will be saved in the space you wanted them.
Yep, looks legit. That house near the bridge though xD. I have houses lined up in one spot, not exactly like that, but they're all in one area. I did that with the help of patterns and plot resetting.
