is it possible that a villager is stuck?

So I've had Molly as a starter in my town and I've been trying to get her out because I personally have/want other normals. So by various means I got her to ping me saying that she was moving out. Now, I also remember that at that first ping, someone else had pinged to move out either before or after, and the other villager moved out and Molly stayed. I'm 90% positive that I told her to leave, but she didnt. Now, a month or two later, she pinged again and this time it was just her. I told her to leave as usual and she was the only one, but by the time she was to leave, she didnt. And since then other villagers have moved out.

I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this and may know of a way to fix the situation? Thank you very much in advance.

That sounds like a pretty weird glitch to me... haven't heard of it happening before o_o Hopefully someone else on the Bell Tree knows more about it and can help you.

P.S. If you do successfully get Molly to go, I encourage you to post here when she's in boxes - a lot of people like her and would love to give her a new home rather than seeing her sent off to the void :3

I would but at my campus currently, I cannot connect my ds to the wifi here and so I've just been playing solo

Are you sure she didn't mention anything about changing her mind when you told her to go ahead and move? Villages can decide to stay even after you say it's okay for them to move.

Yeah seth I know the second time I do remember her saying that she may change her mind. I wasn't sure that that was option but I guess she did it twice now. Thank you for the answer.

Sometime there'll be a 'haunted' villager who simply anchored themselves in your town.
I have O'Hare, who firmly planted himself in one of my cycling town.
It's been 2500 yrs and counting.

Next time when Molly pings, take extra notice of the moving date she mentioned:
Once you noted that, quit without saving, then immediately TT to that day. They should be in boxes.
TT to the next day, their house would be gone. Then you can invite your preferred villager in.

Also, in case you have not seen this already, it's been most helpful:

Good luck! C:

Yeah, it's kind of annoying that they can do that in this game. If you can confirm that she wants to move in the future (either from a ping from her or rumors from other villagers), it would be best to completely avoid her afterwards to ensure that she won't change her mind again. You can also consider resetting if she does change her mind after talking to her, though you'll lose some progress if you haven't saved recently.

Ruby's been in my town since the beginning, maybe they should release a patch or something if it is an issue with the game because i don't want to have to time travel just to get rid

I have had Big Top, Bam and Vladimir all in my town since the moment that I statrted I've told them all to move and they just stayed, so now I enjoy them.

After you told a villager to move out, they can ask you again if you are sure you want them to stay or leave. So maybe you just quickly skipped the dialog when you talked to Molly.
