Is it more difficult to have a nice town this way?

It's been a while since any villagers have moved in or out of my town and I miss meeting new villagers. I'm thinking of replacing a couple of villagers with some that I really want, but also leave some free spaces for villagers to come and go.

I'm just concerned that this will be more work to plot reset to make sure my town doesn't look too horrible. Then, on top of that, if I get villagers that are hard to adopt out, that they'll be voided and this will make trading with others or visiting them more difficult (I've seen people say that you can't truly clear your void).

Does anyone else play the game this way? Do you find it more or less enjoyable?

Sometimes I miss it but meeting that UGLY villager that seems to never move out not so much but I have all my dreamies and im very happy that way.Plot resting is a pain but its worth it

Plot resetting isn't so bad, but it seems like such a pain when you don't know if a villager is moving in. :( My main concern is stuff like trading and visiting people.

Getting villagers I hate might be an issue, but who knows? I've gotten villagers that I hated and ended up loving after some time.

Clearing my void always works for me.

But no, I have a friend here who has 8 dreamies and 2 that come and go. :)

I've read posts here saying that your last 16 villagers or so stay in your void no matter what you do, and it's just random whether they move into other towns. I don't really know. :(

Thanks. How does your friend manage? Are there any things that are more difficult or annoying that way?

I think that people play the game differently from one another, and they also change how they think about it over time. Some people are happy with the same 10. But if you'd like some new villagers, accept the challenges that come with it - it's a game! The challengers are meant to be hard, yet enjoyable. If you don't want a void, commit to getting your villagers adopted. Maybe you can find them a dreamy home. Or find someone who has a cycle town or who is trying to cycle out 16 - they are always looking for a new villager to come through for a while. Plot resetting is painful, but then success feels great too. If you accidentally load up as mayor and get a house on your favorite path? Maybe that's an accident that leads you to rethink part of your town into something even better. I don't think you can play the game wrong, but you can forget to have fun:) I do it way too often - when that happens I walk away from the internet and just play in my town for a while without thinking of any goals at all for my town. Cheers me right up!
