Is it just me or the villagers just can't sit still for a photo?

Every time I see villagers doing really cute things, I try to stop and take a picture. Problem is, the moment I open the camera app they just leave! Are they programmed to be camera shy or something? Just now, I saw Octavion and Marina sitting at a table with my chess set and they looked like they were having a match. Of course I get my camera out quickly and try to take a photo as fast as i can, trying to get out of the frame as fast as possible.. and ... they're getting up and leaving. At least I took a quick one since I just *knew* they were gonna do me dirty like that 😭 I was in the frame still cuz I got stuck behind a tree trying to get away and it looks like I was being a creep watching. I'm just sad that villagers always stop what they're doing when I just want a photo.. does this happen to you guys too? I feel like they were specifically programmed to do this and I don't know why..lol

It happens, yeah. There's some villagers who I have high friendship points with that are cool with me taking pics. However, that's not always the case?

I tried taking a picture of Biff who was taking a picture of a sand castle, and his eyes bugged out, lol. I was high on his friendship ladder. I don't know anymore. I don't know. 😭

lmaoo i feel your pain. i’ll try to take a cute photo of them or record them while they’re singing and suddenly they’ll just,,, stop lol

It happens all the time! :eek:

They always get up and walk away. Or stop singing to water the flowers instead. Or drop that cool yoga pose. Or put away the book. Or wake up. It's frustrating because I love taking screenshots of my islanders doing something.

Now I just stalk them. I'd follow a villager around, try to anticipate what he's about to do, then run ahead to set up the camera and wait. Most of the time it doesn't work out. But now and then it does and I get good pictures. For instance, I did a lot of waiting and stealthy positioning to get these shots of Dom zooming around in the rain and then stopping to appreciate the snail that is in the foreground. I didn't know if he was going to do it, because he just ran in and out of the frame for what seemed like forever, but I waited and waited and my sorely tested patience paid off. :LOL:

Yesss I can relate to this so much lol! They always seem to move immediately once I get my camera set up to take a picture of them and it's actually frustrating, and as someone who likes to use filters and frames, they are long gone before I can even set up the camera for the perfect shot lol

This happens to me all the time! It seems whenever I stop to look at them doing something cute they stop doing it and just leave... why is it so hard to get a cute photo :cry:

It does seem like they're programmed to do this. Why, Nintendo? Why do we have a button that makes them look at the camera of it doesn't stop them wandering off in the other direction?

I hate this :( I don't know why they are so camera shy when I feel like a big part of this particular game is taking pictures

Oh gosh yeah, I wanted to take a picture of Flora sitting but she stood up and walked away before I could arghhgg why Flora, please sit still

Or when I wanted to take a picture of Muffy and Tank fishing right next to each other and they just... went away from each other 😒

This is such a pain. I have never really taken a good pic with my villagers. They can't stay in one place. But when KK is around, once they sit there, they can't be bothered.

I've taken good pics with Punchy though. He likes the camera.

the same happened to me way too many times that im feeling they're kinda programmed to be camera shy lol such a shame too since sometimes theyre doing cute stuff with other villagers but they suddenly move :c

lol I didn't know this was a thing because I never use the camera phone app. I just take Switch pics all the time. Or save Switch vids. Now I want to test this theory out.

Of course @Pyoopi Biff was taking a photo with you around and didn't have any qualms about it. How rude.

BRUH FR. They’ll be doing something for like forever, and as soon as I take out my camera they’re like noPe soRrY and they move ;u;
