Is anyone else planning out their island?

I just measured everything in-game and laid out my paths accordingly. Deciding for a layout was pretty easy for me because I like things to be neat, but I have no idea how to decorate the leftover spaces and such. I'm not good at all those little things.

I'm struggling a bit with that too, I'm not super creative what I've been doing is looking through other peoples islands, or trying to think of something that I'd want if i lived on the island IE a little flower park, some seating areas, good fishing spots and so on. It'll come to you! Just have fun

It's annoying you can only move something once a day. I moved the shop somewhere earlier and wish I'd put it just 1 space to the left, that means I have to wait until tomorrow then request to move it, then place it somewhere else, then wait the next day to request to move it again and then wait another day for it to be finally where I want it.

In the meantime I have a que of villager houses waiting to be moved.

It's gonna take me I assume a month or more to move everything... I have to move EVERY house including my own, then move the shops around, but since I'm swapping their placement its move abels somewhere random, move cranny across to abels, then move abels back... its so much work! Hopefully its worth it. My main worry for the long term is they'll introduce new buildings in DLC and I'll struggle to find a good place for them!

I plan everything as I'm doing it and then regret it later because theres not enough room to do something else in the area lol

It's working out okay for me so far. I never really was a planner.

Usually I'm the same trying to be accurate this time though, I've already messed up the layout before I got the terraforming tool so I dont want to do that again haha

But I'm happy with the pacing of it! The thought of terraforming the whole thing in one go is too stressful for me hahaha.

I just have ideas right now and a vague idea of what I want. I know I 100% want me and my boyfriend to have our own little chunk of the island so he can set up construction and chemistry stuff. I'm thinking more about what patterns I'll use lol, I saw a cute one that looked like wooden boards so I may do something like that.

I don't have a plan, I go with whatever random idea I have at the time. The nice thing is nothing is permanent if I don't like it. One of the first things I did was reduce the amount and size of cliffs on my island.

To be honest, I wish I could do it all in one go, but theres so much wait time involved in making bridges/inclines and moving houses around that its going to take me probably a month to get it set up the way I'd like

Oh I love the idea of a cemetery! I'd love to see it if you do end up doing it, sounds really interesting!

I had it all done and everything the other day, but then I decided to redo it, so I'm at the planning stage again. Trying to gather ideas for outside decor and setups right now.

My back garden is a cemetery for all the villagers I've gotten rid of.

I've been planning a huge garden / orchard. Laid it all out using a spreadsheet, now just need to actually find the components / fencing I want and actually unlock terraforming.

I put down my "real" paths then i put "fake" paths as markers of were buildings or fences will go.

I am so far from being done and still have about 8 buildings to get moved into place, but I am enjoying it.

Oh I feel you with the building movement!! I've planned my shopping district but my resident area is still up in the air as of now... hoping to get inspired before I get to it haha

I did some planning for my island. I had an idea before getting the game and got lucky with a map that was pretty close so I only really needed to terraform the back half of the map. Spent a few hours figuring out how I wanted to look and I'm satisfied with how it turned out!

I do kinda wish I had a plan for the front half of my map though. No terraforming there and I kinda want to add some but don't know if I will. I already have so many buildings in place there haha.

I'm not, I think that planning it out will ruin the fun for me and I'll be too focused on perfecting it. Just taking it one day at a time

ive unlocked terraforming but haven't done much with it yet because i haven't planned enough!! and moving facilities is going to be a pain. i'm still unsure of the vibe i want ! although i am going to try and recreate the bon appetit test kitchen in my house.
