Is anybody else bothered by the size of the rooms in the house?

Hello everyone! I hope you are all doing well and hanging in there!

Ahh, so I'm not sure if this bothers anybody else but has the difference in sizes of the rooms in the home seem odd? I personally don't like how all of the rooms are different sizes now as I feel I can fit way less furniture than what I could back in NL. Personally, if they wanted to give us different sizes for rooms, then I would be all for it but only if it was given as an option.

I am a bit confused as to why they decided to make the top floor huge and leave the other rooms smaller? I miss being able to fit much more in the rooms. I get that they were trying to make it more "realistic" as the main living rooms, the kitchen, and bedrooms in a home vary on size for the majority of the time, but I personally wish we had a choice to upgrade the smaller rooms if we wanted or decide for ourselves what rooms we wanted to be larger. (For instance, I have a big kitchen and I would have loved it to be to the left or right of my home instead of being upstairs)

Does this bother anybody else as well or do you not mind the different size rooms?

I want my old mansion size back.
I hate this downgrade.

New games in a series are meant to expand upon something, not minimize, or remove it.

Not that there are many items to fill a room with.

I can't do anything with mine that won't look like every other zen wood bamboo farmer out there, and that isn't the look I want.

it bothers me a lot honestly. i think what really bothers me the most though is how little control we have over upgrades. cant choose which room you upgrade to, how big you want it to be, what shape it is.... just weird considering we had so much more control in NL? like why would they roll that back? imo the amount of upgrades there are in NL added to the longevity of the game so it just confuses me why they wouldnt add more upgrades in NH, especially now since so many people have paid all of theirs off already.

but. i just wish i could i choose to have like, main room fully upgraded and an upstairs + downstairs. thats really all i want lol. also bothers me that exterior upgrades are locked behind how many upgrades you have. its just, why? the upgrades in and of themselves, along with the increased storage space, are really incentive enough to upgrade. so why lock customization like that?? i just, urgghh. its so frustrating.

GOD SAME. I miss the expansion aspect so you could decide if you wanted a room big or small.
I also think the personalization aspects of the exterior of your house kinda suck. I don't really like the options, wish we could have more definitive themes like fairy, zen, etc.

This game is amazing, but damn there's some things I cannot get past

I feel the same way personally. I miss having much larger rooms altogether. I felt they did a mistake by giving us smaller rooms and without the option of having us choose if we wanted to expand them 🙁 I always felt that games with sequels should always add and never take away for the most part.

I would be fine with different sized rooms but as I said, if it were an option to us of course. I am hoping maybe they add this as a future update but I'm not so sure.

very much so.

The main room being 8x8
the three small rooms being 6x6
The basement and 2nd floor being 10x6

makes staging really difficult at harvey's. Wit the smaller roomer i have trim two rows and columns and could never get it perfectly right at harvey's The rooms are extremely diffcult to make it look decent without being cluttered.

The 2nd floor and basement has a decent amount of space but once again really difficult to stage at harvey's.

I would love some consistency among the rooms but I try to work with what is given.

I’m starting to get used to the tiny side rooms now, but the elongated top and bottom floors are still weird to me. Hope something changes about it in a future update.

Yes, I totally agree with you! I too was very confused as to why they decided to go with this method since NL really had it right imo. Being able to upgrade what rooms you wished made sense to me, instead of just giving us pre-made sized rooms already like in this game. It's a shame since with so much more awesome furniture options now, bigger rooms imo are a bit of a must have aha. I feel like I can't really fit what I want because I have so much ideas! 😭

It's a roll of the dice, but I'm feeling confident further upgrades will be available down the road.

I hope so! It would be nice!

yeah i feel you with the inconsistent room sizing in this game. at first it kinda bothered me bc the upstairs room is the shape that it is and personally, i find it a bit weird to decorate a rectangle lol. though after playing for a while i kinda just got used to it.

I actually kinda like the small rooms, and the two large horizontal rooms. Although, I do think it would be better if we had the OPTION to increase the size of the rooms even more.
I would like to have a master bedroom, and I feel like the larger horizontal rooms are more suited for a kitchen/basement/attic than a bedroom

I know people are probably tired of the complaining but tbh it’s really weird how they’re handling this game. I feel the stuff that’s already been in the previous games should be in the game from the get go and the updates should be new content.....I’m really trying to not complain as much though since they’ll probably fix this in future updates but it’s just...mmmm. Idk.

It has bothered me a lot as well. I’m hoping they’ll eventually will give us a chance to expand our rooms in a future update. I was planning on maybe recreating some of my HHD rooms but when I went to put down some furniture in the room, yikes - nowhere near enough room. I was extremely disappointed.

I personally don't find it so much so as "complaining" as it is just fans giving feedback so long as they aren't rude about it, especially since there really isn't any new content at all so far from what I see and that there are obvious downgrades that have occured. Even Timmy and Tommy's store is kind of annoying to me due to size and with barley anything in there for the most part. I don't even bother going in there anymore since I'm too busy buying clothes from the Able Sisters who stepped up their game lol

It’s annoying that you can’t fit the large rugs in any rooms except the main room. And I hate havin a door on every wall in the main room. I made it work but it really makes decorating hard. I wish we had a hallway instead

I mean, I like the increased size of the attic and basement... but not at the cost of the others.

Personally, I think we should have the freedom to resize rooms! It could be added as a bonus once our loans are fully paid off- we can pay a bit more to resize our rooms as we please? If, for instance, you want a tiny bathroom- you could do that. or if you want a spacious kitchen side room? You could do that, too! I feel like it'd give more motivation for paying off the final loan since, as of right now... there isn't much of one.

It isn't really increased though.

They took 2 from one of the 8's, gave it to the other 8, and made it 6 x 10. :(
