Is anybody else bothered by the size of the rooms in the house?

Yeah, it does feel restrictive with the room sizing. I kind of like the top floor and basement layouts - Rectangular rooms are a breath of fresh air compared to all squares all the time. But the side rooms are too small to do much with right now.

Something tells me a Future update will improve all this, however, so I'll be patient.

They took 2 from one of the 8's, gave it to the other 8, and made it 6 x 10.

The size of the basement and the attic is increased- but, as I said, I don't like that it comes at the expense of the other rooms.

I love the non-square rooms and the different sized rooms on the main floor. Felt dumb in new leaf that if I wanted a side room small I couldn't pay off my debt and I couldn't downgrade if I wanted to. set sized rooms makes sense and looks nice.

They've given two to one eight to make it ten, making that eight a six.

The room isn't bigger, the dimensions/shape has changed, but it's still 16.

I just make them work but I did find it pretty weird at first that there were no room expansion options. On one level it makes getting the full house cheaper and faster but yes, I do miss being able to display massive sets and designs in big rooms. This could easily be updated though so time will tell if this is an ongoing issue.

The perimeter is the same but the main room has a total of 64 squares (if you ignore the doorways) and the top floor has 60. You have to leave at least 8 squares empty in the main room to make it functional though. I’m not sure how I managed to fill my new leaf main room. I can’t seem to make it work in this game.

It is absurd. I’m only using about half the space in my house. Mine can stay empty too.

I actually kinda like the small rooms, and the two large horizontal rooms. Although, I do think it would be better if we had the OPTION to increase the size of the rooms even more.

Same. Everything else is fine, I'd just like ONE more larger room to turn into a bedroom.

I'd like the NL exteriors and house styles back.

I miss the garden exterior, barrel mailbox, and zen castle, as well as the full sized mansion.

I was extremely disappointed at first (coming from NL and HHD) but I've learned to adjust over time and had fun decorating them. I still like the option to increase their sizes, but I'm satisfied with what we have right now.

I’m sure we’ll get upgrades from nl, because right now, it makes no sense, it’s clearly possible as harvey basically has the mansion upgrade from nl

i seriously hope they plan on adding in an update where you can change the size/shape of your different rooms be it making them larger or smaller - could be a cool new option you unlock after paying off the final loan?

i do appreciate that they tried to give us varying sized/shaped rooms but, well..... they tried, that's just it. rectangles are so hard to work with

Since I am a big fan of interior designing since New Leaf, New Horizons didn't give me any option to expand my other rooms.

I wish Nintendo can implement an update that allows me to.

yeah. because i need more space for the kitchen (obvious reasons) and the spa, which acts like the bathroom and it would be so weird to have it on the top floor. or even the basement. i want the 2nd level to be the bedroom ofc.
