So I'm currently running around mochi trying to figure out if anyone is going to move (don't want anyone to move out) Fauna was the first to ping but it was just to give me an item. No one else who was outside pinged. And I've spoken to everyone except Margie and Merengue and no one has mentioned anyone moving yet. Should I keep bugging everyone to see? Or should I assume I'm safe for now? Hadn't played in a couple of days.

I'd spam your normal villagers with convos. They usually (but not always) tell you if someone's thinking of moving. Just to be safe, save and quit and load the same day again. And then run around and see if anyone pings you. Sometimes they don't want to move for five days, other days it feels like they want out of town at any given second, haha

Right? Lol that's why I'm shook right now cause they usually ping like right away when they wanna move! I'll keep spamming em ≧﹏≦

It doesn't hurt to check, but usually a villager asks to move every five days. A good way to tell if anyone is moving is to talk to your villagers and see if they mention anything about "rumors". These conversations differ with the personality of the villager, but the rumor convo is placed in where the villager would mention someone wants to move if someone did indeed want to move. If they start talking about rumors, nobody wants to move.

I'll keep checking just to make sure!

You should always check like multiple times. I am always surprised on how much people say they never got a ping from a mover. It is a myth that the mover will always be outside the first time you load your game. Different personality types have different times when they are outside and it just amazes me that people don't check more often. Nowhere in any official site does it says your town's current mover will always be outside when you first load your game. It may take you having to talk to every villager multiple times before they are found. It is just assumed that this is always the case especially if you are close to some more then others. Anytime you go 3 days or more without playing or checking you should always do a very in depth check that yes you could find right away but could also take you up to a half hour or more.
It is also a myth that after a long hiatus you need to talk to every villager to get a ping. This only speeds up this process but my son goes for months of not playing and he could just step out of his house and his nearest neighbors may come up and ping him. You should never assume these things unless they are explicitly said to be 100% true by Nintendo it's self and most other sites. Aso while this very rare to happen you can have 2 movers in a weeks time. This is because while in most cases a mover is triggered about every five days as one person pointed out they can actually give you as little as 3 days. This is not the norm but can happen. I lost a favorite villager this way. This is why I suggest to check every 3 days.

The best villagers to talk to I have found is the snooty and cranky. Fang and Diana are always telling me when somebody is thinking about moving. But I try to keep track of how long it's been since somebody last pinged to leave.
If you're at 10 villagers they should be asking to move every 5 days or so. If it's longer than 5 days I'm always extra careful

Normally on their third chat with you, they'd say the 'rumour' thing.

I saved and quit and loaded the game back up. Suddenly flurry who I had already spoken to a number of times and she didn't say she was moving. Was indeed trying to move. She pinged me and told me she was moving. Sneaky lil villagers!

Villagers will always ping you and be outside when they want to move. When you reload your game it is likely that someone will ping you and that would trigger them wanting to move but it's pretty rare. Even if you don't talk to all your villagers and one wants to move your still have 5 days after to save them. From the day that they will first ping you (on the days they have decided) it is always 5 days until they are in boxes.
