Let's talk about apples newest creation, the ipad, which is a tablet computer, that is a mix of the iphone and the laptop....

They'll probably push it with software, but I don't think I'll get it anyway

The iPad is nothing like a tablet computer. It's just a giant iPod Touch running iPhone OS 4 and has the option to access the internet via 3G. A tablet computer runs a full operating system and has similar hardware capabilities to any other normal laptop. Not to mention the name, which sounds like a feminine hygiene product. They had the name "iSlate" patented a couple months ago, which is a lot better, but likely scrapped it due to the fact it's not really a tablet.

But, then again, who knows? Maybe they'll release a new tablet eventually under that name or something.

That said, I'm highly disappointed with this iPad. I've wanted Apple to release a tablet for a long time, one that actually runs Mac OS X. I thought it was ridiculous the mockups some people made for an Apple tablet running iPhone OS, yet the Mac OS X ones always looked awesome. Plus, Mac OS X has included full tablet support for quite a long time now, so far only used for external tablet displays.

I definitely will not be buying this. I already have an iPhone, which will be able to do anything the iPad can, plus a phone. The only way I'd get one is if I got it for free. =p

Damn, there was this site where they sold tablet computer that ran OSX and I believe was comparable to a Macbook in specs...forgot what it was called though, aaagh. Even had the infamous Apple pricetag to boot.

Yeah, that's called the "ModBook". It literally is a MacBook or MacBook Pro. Basically, you just send your MacBook into the company and they'll rip off the screen and keyboard panel and slap on their touch screen and tweak a few things to make it work better.

Weird thing about it is that Apple actually approves of them. Also, I don't think they've starting offering the modifications for the new unibody models, since they're probably complicated to pull it off with, considering the design is backwards to the older MacBooks.
