International museum event not working

Hi everyone

The international museum event doesn't seem to be working for me. It was announced yesterday by Tom Nook but my museum was under construction then as it was being extended and so I couldn't go in. When I go in today there is no option when speaking to Blathers to begin the event. Anyone know what the problem is? I've downloaded the latest update and am on the correct date as I dont time travel. Thanks!

are there no stamp stands in your exhibits? that's so strange! it definitely has to do with your museum being under construction- i think probably missing the first day threw off the entire event for you, because nintendo probably coded it to be necessary to talk to blathers about it on may 18th (the may 19th dialogue is a little different- blathers is like "the stamp kiosks have moved!" and everything)
if you're comfortable tt-ing, i would recommend maybe tt-ing back to the 18th and hoping it resets things?
