Inquiry about Petitions

Hi all!

I was doing my rounds around the town when Croque gave me one of those petitions where you have to collect signatures in another town. So I went to another town to get all the signatures, which got me to thinking;

Does getting the petition signed actually accomplish anything, or is it just another way of getting free stuff from the villagers in your town? (I got a candy jar for all my efforts.)

Does anyone have the answer to this mysterious, mysterious puzzle?!

It's just another favour you can do for them, same as catching bugs or bringing them furniture, etc. I've read somewhere that it raises the friendship level more than other favours but I don't know if that's true.

It's just another villager request like getting them fruit or delivering their parcels. Doesn't really accomplish anything other than to add to your friendship with whicher villager has asked for the petition. I tend to refuse when they ask for that as it can be a pain finding a town to go to and then having to follow somebody around to each villager. I do most of the other requests so I still have high friendship with the majority of my villagers anyway

I've always wondered if you received anything special for getting a peition signed, I've had villagers ask me a million times and I've always said no haha.

I've received their pictures for doing a petition, but usually I've had a high friendship rating with them anyway.

i think it does raise friendship levels a bit more than basic chores

Yep, just another villager requested task to do. I'm not sure if there's any truth to this, but I still strongly believe it does raise their friendship level more than other deeds.
