I'm trying to give my town an overall Dr. who theme. If you don't watch the show, this post is like Bruce... Get it? a teal deer? (It's after midnight.)

For the most part, I've gone with a zen theme for the outside because in my brain this is a peaceful alien planet where the doctor has gone to retire. I have planted myself there as mayor, because of course I'm a future companion. lol

My other side characters are a Ten, Eleven, and Donna. I might delete Donna soon to help with plot resetting and then bring her back...

One Minor dilemma I am facing is: I have an overall zen theme, which the cube sculpture does not fit into. However, with the episode "the power of three," it would fit... Should I build it?

My main dilemma is choosing final villagers. Mostly I started with a list of all blue villagers and narrowed them down by personality and cute-factor. I tossed in Ribbot because he's perfect for a Dr. Who town, and chose muffy because there aren't any blue uchis, and I figure she could pass for alien. (And she's cute.) they are all in my sig.

But then, I also considered:
Rory the lion, because of his name. And I have him.
Julian, because of the horse in girl/fireplace. And I adore him. So even though Ed is better.... Julian!
Doc, because he's blue and his name.
Skye - blue, and the bad wolf. (Rose)
Gala, because of the space pig or even the pigmen in NY
Shari, because of bananas
Kitty, because of the cat nurses in new new new new york
Daisy, because of k9 (and I loved her in CF)
Ribbot again...he just fits
Drago, as a Silurian

If only there were a black rhino for the judoon...

Anyway, should I keep the blue dreamies or go with my second list, or do you have other ideas to make me even more confused? :)

Ooh, I haven't watched Doctor Who in quite a while, but I love how you're making a theme based on it. For the cube sculpture issue, I think it depends on how you feel about it being placed in town and if you don't mind a pwp that doesn't necessarily go with the Zen theme. I don't know about you, but I'd go for it!

As for the villagers, your input on the second group is detailed and I personally believe that adds a deeper element to your Doctor Who theme (since the show is deep itself, isn't?) than the blue dreamies. Or you can go half and half, but that's up to you.

By the way, love your avatar! David Tennant...I share the same birthday as the tenth doctor...

Oh myy I love the idea of a doctor who themed town :D I absolutely love the series and I'd love to see the town once you've finished/ gotten it started~

Maybe you could create a slightly urbanized part of your town for the cube sculpture to fit in? It's a great pwp for the whole thing~

I honestly prefer your second choice as the meaning behind it stands out more than the first one, but the blue villagers could be good too~ It's really all up to youu~

Yes, I've been leaning towards the second list as well.

It took me hours to make my signature yesterday because I have only a free app and no experience in graphic anything... I kinda dread re-making it... But I think I might!

For all the hours, it's probably worth it because your signature looks great to me. Good luck on choosing between lists!

Thank you! It took me forever to figure out how to make backgrounds transparent with my freebie app! :)

Ok, I'm building the cube sculpture today! I think I'll put it by the message board.

What's frustrating about my new sig is that I have hosted it on several sites now, but the font keeps going blurry... Grr.

Nice selection of villagers to fit in your main DW theme!

Yeah, definitely the cube as you are going for 'The Power of Three' - it can also double perfectly as The Pandorica!! <3 <3
Another very important addition would be the Valiant Statue / several other statues with the mix - The Weeping Angels anyone?

Love your signature.
Just imagine your villagers want to play hide-and-seek with you inside the Tardis. It's gonna take a while. XD

(Girl in the Fireplace, Blink, Human Nature/Family of Blood, Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead, Time of the Angels/Flesh & Stone, The Pandorica Opens/ Big Bang, to name a few, are among my all time favourites)

Yes, I will keep my eye out for those statues! That would make a great basement in tens house with the phone booth in the middle! Too bad I can't customize it blue...

I also plan to have a library with spaceman Sam in Dona's attic and a retro living room with a few pictures of Blanca gathered around the tv to represent the episode where people lost their faces... A christmas bedroom with a bowl of oranges on the nightstand might work - too obscure without ten passed out? I was planning to use the big star thing to set up the observatory from the werewolf episode. I considered a room with a fireplace and TONS of clocks and a fancy ballroom dress for the girl in the fireplace. Is there a horse statue? A hospital room with gas masks on every side table. A museum type room with a mop and a Dalek (I have a dress I could display.) a pirate room with hospital equipment. A western room, but I have no idea how to include the cyborg killer.

For now I'm selling turnips as much as possible to expand the houses, then I will really get into the rooms/scenes.

Any other suggestions would be very appreciated! Especially if you know of furniture I can use to make it better!
