That would be really cool! I'd totally be into that. I would love a cafe in a building so I can repurpose my current outdoor cafe for something else. I would, like others said, love to unlock features gradually. Kind of like the early nook mile rewards unlocked the new shopping app, etc. It would make the game attractive to play daily again!
