They keep pinging me for the silliest things. Cabin table, grape shirt, grape shirt, catchphrase change, grape shirt.
I mean, come on! Especially since I can't build my campsite right now and the two villagers that have their houses relaxing in my camping area won't ping me to move.
I'm seriously about to just start ignoring them. it's not like they are pinging me for anything important anyways.

But there are ways to manipulate what they ask for/bother you for. Fill up your pockets with tools and flowers, and carry as few bells on you as possible. Then they won't buy or sell anything with you.
I try to have few bells and no purchasable items on me when I walk around. When I pick up a few things that the villagers would be interested in I just go to Re-Tail. Also, this way I tend to get pinged quicker for PWPs.
Yes to the above tips, a thousand times yes! I keep all tools in my letters and try to never carry anything purchasable for very long. Most of my pings are useless, but I am getting more moving, PWP, and catchphrase pings than I would with my items on me
If you want them to move I wouldn't ignore pings, especially from the ones you want to move, higher friendships increase moving chances, so if you want them to move definitely don't ignore their pings! I know it can get really annoying, especially when you get asked if you like macaroni or spaghetti more and get told how good chewy gouda is the next day multiple times in one day and you want to punch a wall... but it's worth it to keep higher friendships with your villagers, I try to keep a small hoard of furniture that is pretty "neutral" in design because the villagers always ask for stuff, and I always take their random stuff, because I can just trash or sell it.
Yeah, it's probably not a good idea after all to ignore villagers XD. I stocked my pockets with bells so they can't buy or sell anything to me. Now if they ping me, the only things they can do is ask for catchphrase/greeting changes, telling me they are going to move, asking a silly question or PwP requests.
