I participated in a bid and offered 15Mil for Fauna. The host opened their gates. I tried visiting their town and a message popped up that said:
"Failed to connect to partners device." The error code was 018-0511.

I tried again and saw that someone else was visiting their town. I have a bad feeling that someone claimed that they bought Fauna and came to steal her from me, who REALLY bought her. >.< I don't know what's happening!

If someone else visited the town, then you still could visit, it was most likely a connection error.

Edit : A town can have 3 visitors at the same time.

Was this auction on the bell tree forum? Message that person, and if she/he did have someone else invite a Fauna before you, ask for the refund.. If you can't get the refund, leave a negative wi fi rating... Well hopefully that's not the case. Hope everything works out for you!

For the error, try turning the wifi back on/off on your DS, it usually works for me.

As for Fauna, the best thing would probably be just to PM them; it might be possible they just had multiple trades going on besides yours for items or something that wasn't about her?

Best bet is to just message them to sort it out.

I don't think someone else is trying to steal Fauna from you, I think you just offered too late for her :c

Was this your first connection attempt? Or are you usually able to connect? But I can`t help with the router.

Do you have a smart phone? Does your dad have one? If so, you can use the phone as a hotspot and use it to connect your 3DS to the internet. This is what I do when I cant connect with someone. It doesnt always work though

It's much more likely that they were carrying out some other trade when you got the error message.

If you've PM'ed them and they haven't responded, give it another day. They should respond to you then and you could carry out the purchase at that time.
