I understand your pain. I had Rocket as a starter and she just wasn't for me at all...didn't find her endearing. Bad enough you had to get a plot right outside the cafe. Hopefully you can cycle he out soon?

I thought you could plot for random move ins - well you can make a good guess as to when you need to plot reset.

In my last town, I plot resetted from the 6th villager onwards, and I knew when they were likely to turn up as I'd noted the sequence in earlier towns - its not exact so its safer to start each day with a new save file.

When I was up to 9 villagers then I was 'safe' - I wasn't visiting/being visited by other towns, and I wasn't getting any streetpasses, so my only way of getting a 10th villager was if I invited one in via the campsite.

I know most players don't play so restricted as this, but if you do, then you can control your move ins.

As I change time with the system clock before loading the game, all I have to do is start the new day with a new save file, check if there is a plot - if there isn't one & I'm happy with that, I save the new character (so I 'set' the game with no new plot) and then load the Mayor.
If I didn't save with the new character, then when I load with the mayor - I could end up with a plot.

If you change time with Isabelle its a bit more onerous as you can't change time with a new save file, so you have to load they Mayor just prior to 6am (ie the game thinks its still yesterday).

And the other way of preventing villagers going where you don't want them - put in a temp PWP to 'save' your space - in this case for the caf?.
I don't think you have to actually build the PWP - just leave it fenced with Loid, and don't donate anything. You can then cancel with no loss (if you donate bells towards it you would lose them when you cancel).

Im not sure if this works since i have my dreamies now, but ppl say it works 98% of the time. So you have to talk to a villager untilnhey are thinking and then tt two days forward. Then that villager should ping asking to move. Hope it works!!

Ugh I'm sorry that happened!! I had a villager move directly onto my path and I thought that was bad. Someone in front of the cafe would drive me batty.

yeeeeup. before I knew you couldn't delete the police station I thought nothing of it... and it stayed in my town for THREE YEARS...until a dreamie moved DIRECTLY in front of it and I don't plot reset... so it looks goofy af
