Currently I am working on hacking a town that is set in March with a lot of blooming holly bushes and it's basically red-ish zen foresty themed??

I'm not sure if I want to continue. Whenever I start a town I lose inspiration :( and I'm not even sure what town theme to do anymore so any suggestions would be appreciated.

I honestly just wanna make an original town but I always loose inspiration because I'm suuuper bad at visualizing...

Does anyone else have this problem...?

(I finally found a great idea for a town :) )

Not exactly; my issue is that while I'm working on one town, too many ideas for different themes spring into my mind >.>"

Personally I think the zen town with holly bushes sounds lovely though - I'd keep at it and ask other people to come look at it before giving up completely!

Also: have you had a non-themed neighborhood where you just place PWP and design each area individually, without a broader "vision" for the town? I've had the most fun doing that, and think it makes the whole process less intimidating because everything just develops and comes together naturally over time :3

All the time! Literally going through this today. I decided to help by bringing in some new villagers I've never had before, so with the help of time travel, Amiibo cards, and the campsite I've swapped a few out and put them in different spots. I also pay a visit (or 5) to the Dream suite to help get some inspiration. There's a town you should visit, it's also a forestry vibe with lots of red going on, and I think some zen. It's called Elm Isle and the mayor's name is Silas, maybe you'll find some inspiration there! I love the little farm house there. I know what you mean though. It's hard not to lose inspiration after a while. I think that's when I get the itch to reset, but I've learned to control that feeling now haha.

Well, I'm a habitual resetter, mainly because I have ADHD and I can't finish a task. (one of the symptoms of ADHD) and so I decided I'm not going to let myself reset anymore, because there is nothing wrong with the town I have now. I also decided to just play the game, don't plot reset, don't plan, just play and things will fall into place. My town is themeless, that way I won't be stressing over getting PwP that fit a certain theme. If I stick with Ossipri (my town) then everything I want to do in regards to decorating, villager placements, PwPs, etc, will happen. It might take a while, but it will happens. All it takes is patience. Also, your town is going to be unique, no matter what you do with it, don't worry too much about other people's towns and whether they have similar themes to yours.

Also, some advice that I don't ever take myself but it doesn't hurt to give it anyways; maybe take a break from the game itself. You will likely be inspired if you come back to it later.

I had this problem today. I'm currently making a new town and got the perfect layout and villagers or so I thought. While I was showing Nook where I wanted to put my house, I lost interest and turned the game of.
I still haven't picked my town yet.

I do not, but that's because my last two towns failed from circumstances beyond my control - so I made sure I never reset the one I have now.

...Then again, I do have a little art skill with me.

One idea for you: Why not collaborate with another person on this new town? Perhaps having two people giving each other ideas may help you break through the artists block, and increase your motivation.

I'm glad a lot of people understand what I'm working out :) I'm gonna edit the post and post some screenshots of areas of my town possibly and maybe get some advice on what I can do

Same I'm bad at visualizing at what I want my town to truly look like :(
I don't know where to place the PWPs, heck even what PWPs to place ahahahahaha sad but I'm getting a hang of it, slowly...

Your town looks great so far though! I'd stick with it. The holly and the red flowers + lush green is a really nice combo, especially if you can hack it so that there's no grassware.

I've been playing since the release and i'm still bad at planning my towns :(

The visualization is my problem right now! I always see so many beautiful towns set up. When I try to do something similar, I end up being really dissatisfied with the outcome, and get discouraged. I wish I could hire a town designer to help me out. Hahaha. I JUST started to lay roads the other day, and already hate them... I'm just gonna look at a lot of Tumblr and Pinterest posts, and see if I can get some inspiration that way. :p

I only worry about the part of town I'm working on, then later I'll get inspiration for the next part, and if you just can't get any inspiration, then take a break for a little while, look at pictures of other pretty towns, and you'll get more inspiration eventually. Also, those pictures of your town look beautiful!
