I'm debating on resetting my town.

So, I've had my town since around may of this year and at first, I loved it. The layout was nice and linear, retail and town hall were exactly where I wanted them and so was the plaza. Slowly but surely though, I'm starting to hate my town.

I no longer like my campsite/coffee shop location.
I have TT'd way too much and I feel like I've barely enjoyed my town.
The villagers homes are in the worst places and it's so obnoxious.
The rocks and ponds ruin my setup ideas.
I am so overrun with basic colored flowers and there's so many random crap items/trash everywhere it'd take hours to clean up.
I also don't like the name anymore.

But,
Main street is completed.
I have half of my dream villagers.
I have a lot of items I want to keep and won't be able to get again for a while, if ever.

I don't know what to do! I've put a lot of time/bells into my house and collections (I don't have anywhere to drop my stuff off), and spent way too much time getting some of my dreamies but I don't even want to play anymore because my town bugs me so much. But also on the otherhand, idk how I feel about having to completely start over. If I decide to I'm going to make a detailed landscaping plan, though.

i think u should restart. you can always take some of the stuff with you (there are probably lots of people who are willing to help u with this :>) and i mean... if you really dislike your town i don't think you should keep it..

Yeah I don't think so either, but I'd really miss my villagers (especially Lolly and Freya.) sigh. I wish I could just go get a second ds/copy already.

Well if you decide to reset you could try to find someone to hold your villagers for a bit until you pick out a good map and start fresh. And have bells and some items be held in other town too..

Sounds like there's quite few things that you are not happy about, and maybe you should reset.. Take your time to pick out a map that you really like and a new name? c:

If you are that unhappy with everything I would say you should restart. You could sell your rare items on TBT marketplace and popular villagers on Villager Trading Plaza so that you can buy stuff/villagers back later on.

However, I will say I don't think anyone is 100% happy with their town. I've reset and bought more copies with the idea of a "perfect" town but it just doesn't happen that way. Something will always be there you hate and have to work around and even if you start out right something could happen later on such as a dreamie plotting horribly due to a fail plot reset(my problem currently), so there is always gonna be a problem to work around.

So just make sure the things wrong with your town are worth resetting for or see if there is a way you can work through the flaws before you decide to go through with it. :)

If it bothers you to the point you don't even want to play anymore, I'd reset.
when I reset, I didn't regret it. If you feel at loss for the main street, you could always time travel to get it quickly. It wont affect much since you wont be worried about loosing starter villagers. Having someone to hold your bells and items on the beach will help alot.
if you don't want to reset, you could always ask people to help you clean up the trash and flowers you dont want.

same. I TT way too much and my Main Street is almost complete. I need fortune teller shop.

I hated my old town so much that I actually wouldn't play the game anymore because it wasn't very fun. I didn't even take my 3DS with me when I studied abroad (probably a good move since I actually got some drawing done instead haha). When I came back to the US, I decided that I was going to reset my town. I borrowed my brother's 3DS and file to keep my stuff in while I worked on getting my house expanded to actually store everything (I started a week before the actual day, did my daily progress, then moved forward to the actual day and haven't TT'd since).

This time around, I actually paid attention to things I didn't consider before, such as the layout of my town and where I would like my house to be (I didn't realize how horribly my first mayor's house was placed until I expanded it :( ).

There are many people on this forum who would love to help you store your things if you do decide to reset! I wouldn't recommend asking someone on another ACNL forum to hold your things, though. I think TBT is the strictest one regarding Wi-Fi ratings and having a generally trustworthy community.

I would recommend bringing only your un-orderables and hard to obtain items. I decided to transfer my Lovely and Rococo sets along with some other items I could easily have just made a WTB thread for, and it made my move very difficult. I ended up having to sell all of those items anyway since I couldn't even store them on my new town!

Whether you decide to reset or not, good luck with your town!! I hope you find one that makes you happy soon, whether that's your old town or a totally new one!

I reset my town that I had since 2013 this summer because I hadn't played in forever cause I left it at home when I was off at uni and when I came back all my favourite villagers had moved out and I realized I didn't like my retail location at all and I hated that my fruit was pear and overall it just wasn't as fun to play anymore so I just bit the bullet and reset and I'm glad I did tbh I've gotten way more into new leaf again now trying to get the most perfect (rating-wise and aesthetically) town and it's become a lot more fun than it probably ever was before! :)

Would anyone be willing to hold my things? I just have one series and some clothing/bells/hybrids/fruits. not too much. will pay!

i think that being so unhappy will, if you dont reset now, make you come to regret your town!

if you need help holding, im happy to help! you can just come and visit and dump in my plaza; i wont touch any of it. n___n
cant help with villagers tho sorry :(

(also, is ur username a wrestling reference??? also also you play neo? :^0)
