I'm an arachnophob pretty much to the extreme...

I'm totally okay with the tarantulas. I ran into one in the wild when I was little and I can safely say I don't want to do that again... but they're fine in Animal Crossing. I actually find the little dude skittering around kind of endearing (not irl though of course.) I am afraid for later in the year though.. I am deathly afraid of scorpions and I am always in tears when I encounter one irl. In past Animal Crossing games I avoided them like the plague. I wonder if I will be better now? Probably not..

Eeeep! Yeah I'm OK with them. Pity we can't catch each others really!!

Big same, my stomach turns whenever I see one crawling on the ground or when your villager holds it in the air to show it off. Its wiggly little furry legs make me wanna cry!!

I just don't like bugs/creatures that look like bugs in general. The in-game bugs freaked me out when I started playing because this is the most detail they've been in an Animal Crossing game. I was already terrified of the tarantulas and scorpions, haha.
My first encounter was in WW when a random creature fell from the Museum and instantly attacked me. I was just a kid at the time, had no idea what it was and thought it was some spooky creepypasta thing until I saw them again in CF. No doubt that experience traumatized me and I still jump a bit when running into one lol.

I can imagine that would scar you for life!!

I'm with @Huseyin , my phobia is so severe I don't play after 7pm. I tried multiple times to play at night but I ended up terrified and anxious. I ended up switching my Switch hours to better fit my schedule so when it's night time for me IRL, it's daytime in game.

Also to the many in the thread who have commented about Skyrim, please check out the mod Insects Begone! It is an absolute lifesaver for fellow bug phobics, they get rid of anything that could be triggering and it's allowed me to play Skyrim anxiety-free!

Insects Begone is awesome. Legacy of the Dragonborn is great as well because it gives you an option to turn off spiders. :) I wish New Horizons had a setting like this. Spiders wouldn't come out at night and wouldn't count for filling up your critterpedia.

I don't mind spiders (except really huge ones irl, haha) but I have a lot of sympathy for people with arachnophobia. I have a severe phobia of snakes and I don't think I'd be able to play the game if they were in it.

The tarantulas in animal crossing aren't scary looking, but if I ever saw a tarantula in real life I would probably scream and run lol

Hey there, I am so sorry to hear about your fear of spiders. I totally understand how you feel as I have suffered from this for a long time. It’s actually embarrassing as none of my friends or family have ever had the same issue. I would love to help you and tell you what I did to help me get over this fear.

I tried many different things and none worked as well! I actually came across a video on YouTube that I followed and it worked really well.
Here is that link https://dausel.co/XEXDlA .

Click on the link above and when you get to the landing page, click where it says I am not a robot’ and then you will be sent to the YouTube video that will have the steps you can take to help you with your fear.

The best part is you don’t need to buy anything just watch the video and follow the advice and tips it gives you.

I hope it helps, all the best!

I can somehow relate, I landed on Tarantula Island once last week and I was so disgusted by the creepy crawlies.

A girl's gotta pay off her loans though, so I filled my entire inventory up with them. It was lucky that Flick happened to be on my island the very same day.
