If you sell your town, do you keep your badges?

Has anyone here sold their town to Tom Nook yet? I'm very tempted to make a brand new, woodsy town to go with the new campsite, but I don't want to lose my badges, either. Is it just the town itself that changes? Do you keep what's on your character?

I think everything gets lost except your catalouge if you choose to keep it & the bells he gives you. But Im not sure. Thats a good question

I am wondering this as well. I do not like where the RV campsite is in my main town, so I have been mulling over whether to restart. My main town has 100% catalog, nearly all gold badges, and over 600 million in bells. And this town breeds hybrids fast since I have been breeding them for so long. I have all the cards of all 4 sets, so getting my villagers back is not an issue. I think for the non-orderables I would move them over to my cycling town and my hybrids
