I'd probably just leave it there. I'd feel guilty taking stuff, but I don't think I'd go through the effort to return it and it could possibly look like I'm stealing it which I'm afraid of.
I've been in this situation twice: once I saw them drop it and once I just found it.
The first time I obviously returned it. (And got a little boon for it too, rad)
The second time wasn't as simple. I had to use the bits and pieces of what information was left behind in the wallet to contact them over the phone. I honestly forget their reaction, but I remember I was happier for solving the little puzzle fate left behind more than I was happy to return someone's wallet. I dunno what that says about me but whatever.
I also managed to return a phone that had it's screen cracked into permadeath with my girlfriend. We managed to access siri and tell her to "call home". The dude on the other end was super happy and gave us a bunch of fresh apples. It was a good day.
Depends on where it was lying around. If there are people there, then it probably belongs to someone nearby and I'd ask around. If nobody around claims it, I would leave it. If it was left all alone, I'd probably check ID or cell phone contacts to give it back.
depends on where i found it. if it was in a huge public area like a park or something, i'd leave it. if it was at school or something, i'd try to find the owner.
I'd try to contact them to return it, actually I have done this before & I met up with them to give it back to them - I'd want the same thing done for me since I've lost my wallet a few times & luckily people have turned them in to the lost & found
obviously return it to the owner and do everything my power to do so.
I've been in situations like this, especially with people leaving their debit cards in the atm at my bank, lol I just bring it back inside and have them call or whatever.
Depends on where I would have found it, if I found it somewhere like in a store or building I would turn it over to them to deal with, but if I like found it in a park or outdoors somewhere I would probably try to just mail it to the address on the ID
