I would probably keep looking for a better map, I had different plans when I made it so it slowly grew and stuff and I had to kind of work around what I was given. Though my map is pretty much perfect I wish my retail and Town Hall were in a different area. I think everything else I've done, with the working around it has gone pretty well. I have demolished and re-built a lot of PWP's moving them around and such and I like what I go going on so far. =]
I would swap my cafe and police station. My map has everything at the very top (plaza - re-tail - train station - town hall) in that order. I put the police station in between the plaza and re-tail and the cafe on the right side of the town hall. It just seems the police station would make more sense by the town hall and for the cafe to be by a shop. It's not too big a deal, but it still bothers me a bit sometimes.
I wouldn't change a thing about any of my towns (and I have 4 of them). Bevelle was founded before I even knew that map resetting was a thing and I just picked one of the first 4 maps given to me, but I have worked around it and I adore my town just as it is.
Archades, Azura and Elsweyr are all WIP's, but the maps are perfect for what I have planned for them, so I don't forsee any issues with them either
I wish I could change the location of just about all the permanent buildings in Laika... here's a quick list of my colossal screw ups.
* Cafe should have been up against the train tracks, cause now it's in a kind of awkward spot that's hard to landscape around.
* Police station is in a really awkward spot when it could have easily been placed near town hall as there's a lot of empty space that I'm having a hard time landscaping.
* Campsite is on the southwest cliff for some ungodly reason. I like having them in a more remote area with a lot of foresty landscaping, and it just looks really weird where it is. Plus no cedar trees.
Maybe moving my mayor's house... but overall I'm pretty content with where everything is. If I worry too much about redoing things I'll get tempted to reset the whole town, because game-ruining perfectionism. ; v ;
Kind of wish I could move my campsite, but it's not a big deal.
What I really regret is letting Puddles & Phoebe move out. I never realized how much I'd miss them :/
But if I were to be specific, probably some of my villager's houses. They're clumped together in certain parts because I had no where else to put them due to landscape. :c When I bought Fang off someone, I completely forgot to plot reset and found his house right in front of one of my characters. Thank god it wasn't the mayor's house. I still haven't gotten around moving it to somewhere else bc I'm so lazy >.>
My house xD It's in front of the train station, but somewhat distant. The thing is, I'm landscaping my town and I have no idea what to do with all that empty space.
Mine would be the campsite in two of my towns. Placed one for an ocean view before I knew about the cedar tree problem.
The other one I placed too close to the bridge. Another thing I didn't know about when I placed it. I have two nice bridges and one odd one.
I wished I used the campsite for getting villagers in the beginning. I went in blind when I started ACNL and didn't know about the inviting villagers part or resetting. Used that in town 4 and got a lot of cool villager like Ankha.
Not really something that players can control, but I would change the size of either the plaza tree or bridges so they can line up easily. The tree is three spaces across and the bridge is two, so I can't have them perfectly aligned. It bothers me so much....
the name of my mayor. i named her Avenger because my online friends knew me by that but now that i don't play with them anymore i regret not making it my own.
