If the switch goes into sleep mode, does it still count as hours played?

I usually play the game around night time. I work during the day, and after work, I do house chores , and if I have time, play a little right before going to sleep.

Lately I’ve been a bit tired and have fallen asleep a couple of times playing. If the game goes to sleep mode, Does that still count the hours played on the dashboard? I feel like it shouldn’t, since technically I’m not playing, but I don’t know.

Does this happen to anyone else? 😅

No. Otherwise I'd be getting +24 hours tracked per day or +720 per month

Oh that’s great to hear! I was worried because when I wake up, I notice that the switch is on sleep mode ( appears turned off) , but when I press the buttons three time to get the game back up, I’m still in the island. I was worried since I didn’t quit and save, it was counting the hours played.

Haha I’m the same as JKDOS! But yeah I think because it knocks off any WiFi communication (if you put it in sleep mode with the gates open it will disconnect) it would also stop counting hours played
