It helps to save and continue often or when you feel like you did or accomplished something for the day so that you can easily just quit to home menu whenever these things happen

If this happens to you a lot it means that you have low or middling friendship levels with some of your villagers.When I used to cycle I would get that response a lot from my cycling town villagers but rarely from the villagers in my regular towns.You don't have to kiss their furry butts but just talking to your unwanted villagers a bit more should probably raise your friendship levels enough to the point where they'll really wanna leave the next time they ping.
