I've been inactive for a bit because I've reset my town. It was a hard decision since I just upgraded to the Emporium T&T, bought millions worth of Gracie stuff, and didn't exactly want to abandon my animal friends, but the amount of time travelling I've done has really ruined my experience. It just wasn't fun anymore.

So, like the title says, I started over. It was quite a shame since I just bought Marshal for 400TBT as well, and decided to just give him away. Being as picky as I am, it had to take me at least 10 legit hours to pick the right map and not get pears or oranges (ended up with peaches again). The process was very tedious, but I'm happy with what I got in the end. My new neighbours were Stitches, T-Bone, Claudia, Poncho, and Deena. I'll be honest and say that I sort of cheated and saved some of my valuable items and bells from my last town. I'm actually busy with getting 100% approval, which takes time but I feel happy with the work I'm putting into it without the assist of time travel.

So, yeah, I've noticed that quite a few people have questioned the idea of restarting and made this thread to share my experience. If you guys have ever made the same decision I'd be happy to read your point of view as well.

I recently started over as well (and in recently I mean last night XD ). It was a hard decision, because I had paid off a lot of my loan (for my house) and had my number one dreamie already in my town (Juilan). But I just had to reset because: A) I hated my town map. and B) I wanted to start fresh for some reason. Anyways, I reset a ton of times and finally found an awesome map to have (It only has one pond! Yay!), I have some pretty good villagers, but the only thing is that the native fruit is pears - which is my least favorite of the fruits but hey - I've never seen a map with only one pond so I am not going to sacrifice it for another fruit! I will just plant a lot of other fruit trees in my town later on XD

Good luck with your new town! Resetting can be a lot of fun, actually :)

I reset only because my sister wanted to play as mayor but she got bored pretty quickly due to excessive time-travelling so she gave the game to me and I reset the town. Ehh, I've also been tempted to reset my current town because I just hated how the town was getting together but seriously, I don't think it's worth losing all my badges, PWPs, and museum donations so I just dealt with it and worked around the inconvenient town layout.

My sister and I actually reset our towns at the same time and we got eachother's dream fruits and dreamies. So instead of her getting Stitches and peach trees, she got Diana and cherry trees. It was actually quite funny. Her town's name is Gumdrops :)

I reset just about a week ago! (lol)

I'm in the same boat as you, I time traveled and it got boring really quickly. (I actually quit playing like a week after the game came out because I had everything). The game feels much more rewarding when you don't time travel or trade villagers imo. I'm really having fun!

This past January I restarted my town. I became really unhappy with my town layout over time, and I couldnt achieve anything that I originally envisioned for my town to be. Thankfully I didnt get too far into the game, but I was really sad because I had Margie in my town and shes been a favorite of mine since Population Growing.

Besides a few small minor things like pond and rock placement I love my town :)

I reset a long time ago before I ever went on the internet to look at this forum. My ultimate down fall wasn't my town map or the type of grass I had and the town name wasn't bad (Pandora). The reason I reset was I had four characters. When I started the game, I would of course play with my mayor. Then, I made a new character just to have a new gender character but then I started playing them more and left my mayor in the dust. Then I made a new character for storage but then I started playing him instead of the other one. Then I made ANOTHER character but after one day of him, I stopped playing for two months then restarted.

Funny thing is, my town was a dreamie magnet.
I had Tia, Phoebe, Diana, Marshal, Tangy (whom I beat with a bug net several times), Ruby, Chief, Snake, etc. and they were all random move ins.

...I do miss that town. But Nowhere is a lot better...I hope.

I just re-started after casting AC aside from frustration for close to a year. In my previous town I needed to have nearly everything meticulously planned with pathways and villagers in "good" spots. I think a lot of energy was spent acquiring dream villagers, then plot re-setting and then making sure they weren't going to move out. I started to dread booting up the game so I just stopped one day.

But I watched an AC video on Youtube recently and found I really missed the little world. So I decided to re-start (painfully!) and this time, I'm going to just go with the flow - which means no more dreamie hunting, or plot-resetting, or intricate path systems, or structured flowerbeds...etc. The more effort taken to create a "perfect" town, the more maintenance it needs as most of you will know!

Anyway, I hope everyone continues to find the joy that this game brings. Happy playing!

I've thought about resetting because I started my town when I didn't know about things like plot resetting or resetting for better maps. I've also thought about time travelling ruining my experience, especially when I heard about a glitch that means that sometimes villagers won't celebrate your birthday when you time travel.

However, I've never restarted. This has been my town from the start and a lot of the things I dislike about it are things I can live with and try to make something good with. :)

It's fine if other people want to restart. Sometimes, they might feel bored with their towns and want a change, especially if they want to change the way they've been playing.
