If your river mouths bother you or you feel like the rivers take up too much space, you could make one as small as possible and round it off!
I know it sounds like it would look kind of strange but I did it to my East mouth and it looks very cute. It just looks like a dip in the map c: It opened up a lot of space for me and I really like it!
Everyone is always more critical of their own map and I have not seen your town for myself but honestly your map looks very nice. I bet you have a very cute town! But I understand being frustrated and wanting to change things up. I think the advice of moving things to the beach while you decide what to do is a good idea.
