Seriously, that last map was cute with the river looking like a shoe but what I was planning I can already tell it wasn't going to work.

You know, I should probably just give this game back to GameStop since I can't stick with a map for more than 5 minutes. Here I go on the great reset again. -_-

On the plus side, at least I reset a week into my town than 3 months into my town.

Well, it's better to keep resetting for the town you want rather than being stuck with a map you dislike, good luck with the great reset!

Thank you.

I also decided to start a blog. I mean what better way to stay with something than to have a blog to motivate you? It worked when I played Sims, so it should work with this. :)

Blogs are a good way to keep on track. Find a good map that suits you. A river will be a bigger problem than say a rock. Good luck!

Reset, reset, reset until you're happy! I am addicted to map resetting... Like, I don't know what it is, but the random map possibilities is fun for me to cycle through. And I'm so indecisive. But eventually I always do find a map that I think will work, and sometimes I stick with them - sometimes I don't. I'm actually debating resetting a town right now, but I'm hesitant also because I have some cute villagers and apples, which are my favorite fruit but I seem to get rarely. I just haven't had the time to work on the town compared to my other two, and I'm not as happy with how I plotted my villagers Dx

Anyway, what sort of blog are you doing? Tumblr, wordpress, blogspot, etc? I used to use wordpress to blog about animal crossing and liked it a lot, but I kind of got out of the habit (and that old town was deleted). I use tumblr now, but mostly just to share pictures and find inspiration. it's not as good for detailed posts :(

I'm so busying decorating the blog that I've pretty much ignored the game lol. Um, I'm using Wordpress. I've used them before with Sims and I like how much you can do, even on the free version. I'm actually a writer in real life so I think making an Animal Crossing blog story will actually keep me motivated.

I used to use wordpress for Sims too, but I struggle with keeping up with it :( I've wanted to get back into it with animal crossing, but I struggle with the decorating part lol. I'd like to follow your blog once you do get it going though!

Of course! I'll put the link in my signature once I get it all set up. I want to get the first part up before I link it so people will actually have something to read. I mean, I already have lot of stuff on there, but most of that stuff is for my own information.

A blog, you say...

How about creating a Miiverse log? That's what I do, and I number the days into my town each time. You can see it here:

https://miiverse.nintendo.net/users/NewLanstar/diary

I find looking at other Miiverse logs quite fun to see what others have done, too.

That's actually a really cute idea :o I use Miiverse just to post images every once in a while, because it's soooo slow to open so it bugs me lol. But I really like this, with the days all numbered!

That's okay - the limit is an acquired taste, I must admit. But I also use it as a tool to compress my wording of things. I tend to go on and on with my writing, and the log trains me to clear things up a bit - and place the more important happenings up front and center.

Also, I don't always limit to 1 post a day - if another screenshot or event demands it, I sometimes do multiple posts in one day - like my first bug-off.

Maybe you just give a try with some other map? You never known what you can do with that map, you have all new chances and maybe y just need to be patient and well... Try.

I returned an unused acnl game at gamestop and they charged me $10 so I don't recommend that lol

I had the exact same problem as you and I honestly recommend getting homebrew so you can use the save editor - it takes the fun out of the game if you use it to get 9999999999 bells and a massive house straight away but just using it for changing up the map and cool normally-impossible landscaping has done wonders for me sticking to my town, because I get to make the exact perfect map for me and it's so liberating to know that if you change your mind you can dump your save and completely change things around at any time, even the "permanent" PWPs like the coffee shop, without resetting at all.

One thing I'd recommend against though is using the editor to put your dreamies in the town since the villager relationship levels are stored in a different file than the one that the save editor changes so if you put a new villager in they'll retain the same relationship level that you had with the old villager. This gives me The Prisoner type vibes and freaks me out a little, since if I'm meeting a villager for the first time ever I want them to act like they've never met me. Villagers are better when they're adopted/met "organically", in my opinion.
