I saw one tarantula in my park. I screamed and ran away.
Just...nopenopenope Phineas can keep his badges.
I legit stopped caring that day.

They're also very uncommon in my town because of all my patterns and trees. Not enough room for them to massively spawn or anything. I'm sorta glad about it tbh. The summer bugs are the worst and I'm tempted to just TT to autumn because I -really- hate Summer in AC as much as I hate Summer irl ><

Not really that many, I have Beatiful town Ordinace but I don't actually place them. I have a lot of trees though. I found my first outside the town hall, second at a bridge connecting my town.

I had the WORST time trying to catch one. I looked up videos, tried faqs, everything. After some experimenting, I finally figured out a good way to farm for them (in my opinion).

Firstly, I'd wait till it was terribly late. This reduced the chance of any other bugs being around. I covered all my grass with patterns, because they only spawn on a clear open grass space. Some people chop all their trees down to increase their chances, but I didn't wanna do that. After I had all of my town covered, I cleared a giant square of grass right in front of my house. Then, I would go in, come out, go in, come out, over and over and over again. I found six tarantulas (!) and four scorpions. I caught four tarantulas and.. one scorpion.

I always had my net as my first tool, too. And I would just.. creep. Because they loved to jump off cliffs. I literally had one vanish right in front of me before, and fall into a pond. I wish you ALL THE LUCK!

I know the struggle all too well. The ONLY thing I still need to catch is the scorpion. Then I will finally have caught everything.
