I peeked at the old new leaf today.. comparisons

You cannot customize it in the same way you did with New Leaf. There is no Zen, Castle nor Modern house shape, just the regular house one. Also the mermaid, fairy tale, sweet and other thematic exteriors are gone. In New Horizons the exteriors options are all extremely basic

Mushrooms were fall items in NL too. I don't get the complaint when the system is the same.

New Leaf's water looks so fake and depthless imo. The shimmers of moonlight on the waves in NH are amazing. Funnily, NH has so much more visual depth than the "3d" game...

And frankly I thought all the crystal stuff was hideous. I'm glad to not have one more crafting component cluttering everything up, since they added so many of those, too.

I do miss ReTail. But I'd like to see the WW Flea Market return. That was a good time!

The rivers LOOK SO BAD IN NEW HORIZONS.. I really think like you said lifeless..NO DEPTH in comparison seriously... theres way more detail in NL! Its PATHETICCC... I was SHOCKED to see new leafs river and waterfalls look SO MUCH BETTER imo.. seriously everyone go look at them in motion and then look at new horizons I cant even believe it

I really just love the overall graphics in nl is much cuter.. less trying to be realistic and it just makes everything cuter

I played new leaf as well today, it is so weird to see how bad the graphics and stuff look!! It’s like how I played wild world after new leaf and it looked so much downgraded. It’s weird how a new game changes your views on the old one

What I miss the most in NH is my circle grass, changing shop times (because I can only play at night so I exclusively have to use the damn dropoff box) and the bushes. Also less glitches and the fact that my starting villagers weren't stuck in garbage houses. Oh, and I think there were more eyecolors available in NL. The lack of eyecolors in NH is breaking me. Why every haircolor under the sun, but not more eyecolors? And unbreakable tools. So, so much.

What I definitely don't miss from NL are the issues with bridge placements, the lack of slots for personal patterns on each character, the more blocky graphics and not being able to reposition houses. Because damn I wanted to reposition so many animal houses in NL.

Dont get me wrong I think nh has stepped its game up in some aspects... like putting things outside. Great. but some aspects like the rivers.. nope they took a step back on those and getting rid of a lot of stuff people loved.... I didnt play ac before new leaf but wish i did...

I really miss the way it would describe the bugs and fish in our index... the rivers look like merky and wierd in nh like... they look way more islands in new leaf and the movement is so much better the pattern on top of the water... ooy yooyoi

Honestly i hate how plasticy and fake new leaf looks. I tried going back after playing NH since launch and was like...nope can’t do it lol
While I dislike that there’s currently no house shape options or fancy exteriors I’d choose NH over NL in a heart beat
Also the crystals really aren’t needed in this game, since we no longer have retail and can customize furniture with customization kits

i don’t miss the ore all that much but i definitely do miss all the different fruits and i’m hoping they’ll be added back with the earth day update but that’s probably wishful thinking.

i miss a lot from new leaf; i miss all of the shops and the npcs and tortimer’s island and the more creative exterior options ;u;

It's not even every hair color under the sun either tbh, the pastel green is gone, the navy blue is gone, and the purple is gone (there's a purplish pink color but it's not the same as the cute pastel lavender color from NL/PC and I'd easily consider it closer to pink, so I have to stick to blue for my hair). Some hairstyles that existed in NL are missing too. But yeah I agree on the eye colors, I don't like how there's only what, 5? And god why do gold tools still break!

The "shimmers of moonlight" are the same in the daylight and the rivers honestly look horrible to me they dont even look like rivers to me... ive lived on a boat anchored out surrounded by water.. how is that even water??

If you really want to quote me again to argue about it, I disagree. The rivers in NL are too opaque and plastic-looking imo, and the NH water has more shading and range-of-depth as indicated by that shade. Maybe that's what you think is murk. I just opened my NL to compare, and yeah, nowhere close to the same clarity. Having lived on the beach briefly...

And I also disagree: different kinds of light in this game do hit differently.

You're free to think whatever you want, of course. But this is a subjective discussion that I already said my piece on, and quoting something again to argue with it when you already responded to it once isn't gonna accomplish much.
