I never knew this about PWPs, kinda disappointing

So I'm going about my day in Moriyo, tryin to decide what I want to build in my fairycircle. The well does fit so I went back to town hall to see how the stone tablet would work. After going throu my pwp list 3 full times, I looked up in Google 'acnl can't find stone tablet in pwp list'. And ya know the very first thing that comes up?

A thread on GameFAQs that says there are certain pwps that can only be built ONCE. These include-
Stonehenge
Stone Tablet
Tower
Windmill
Fence
Lighthouse
Wind turbine

Because I already had the stone tablet built, I can't build another one. Like, what the heck, why can I only build these ones once? I also wanted to build multiple wind turbines in Treehut, glad I came across this before I planned them out.

I definitely agree. I would have liked to build multiple wind turbines in Taiga but for some reason that's impossible. It's kind of ridiculous because you see wind turbines close together all the time in real life. I kind of understand why 2 lighthouses would be a little absurd, but everything else shouldn't be restricted like that.

I don't know who built that, but they must have been using hacks.

Even with the lighthouse thou, you can put one on one edge of a cliff then put the other on the complete other edge of a cliff. I guess for the big ones it's cause they're so large, but why the stone tablet then? I thought it would be cool to make like a ruined stone area, but I wanted to use multiple stone tablets for that.

Wow! I never knew that! It's kinda a shame they won't let you build more than one. Thanks for sharing this info.

I feel like it makes sense for Stonehenge as that is based off of a popular landmark...but turbines? Fences? That's a bit sad.

Yeah turbines esp. I mean they're small, they only take up one space, so why can't we have more than one? Cause game logic. The others I kinda get because they're large, and maybe the game can't support 30 windmills around town, esp cause it moves, but oh well. But how cool would it have been to have multiple Stonehenges?

Woah thanks Stella! I havent caught up there yet. I would certainly like many turbines, as a perfect town, saying the town iis sustainable. Im trying to get the tower in NL but no one is requesting it yet...

I was disappointed to find out that you couldn't have multiple Stone Tablets, too. I think a couple of them spread out throughout an enchanted forest themed town would be cute.

Wow, some of these are so weird? I kind of get the windmill and lighthouse as they’re quite large and sort of unofficial buildings, but things like the stone tablet only being able to be built once is super strange.

I can understand most of them but it's really weird how wind turbines are limited to just one. A single wind turbine is never going to be enough to supply the whole town with green energy wtf

My disappointments are:

1) It takes too long to get the pings from villagers. (My trick is to build non-permanent ones almost immediately. Keep doing it, and the villagers will ping. I enter a day and get a ping from a villager. If the villager doesn?t request a PWP, I turn off the game, start again, to spark a request.)

2) 30 are not enough. I don?t know if there is a magic number. But, I think I need 10 more. This is especially so if I want to create areas of a town which are for a park and/or a garden (which would include topiaries). 30 is limiting.

You guys seem to forget you are playing a 7yo game using a tiny cartridge with that weak 3ds system of yours. Don't try to find the reason using irl examples and irl logic. The restrictions on heavily animated and/or big pwps and pwp count in general exist so people wouldn't start having instability issues with the game. Instability problems can be seen in saves and dream address that used hacks to bypass such restrictions even now, I know I experienced it. Everything needs to be optimized so same people complaining about pwp count now wouldn't say "How hard it CAN be to make a tiny game not crash at random times." that time

edit: also by "big" i don't mean the size only but polygon count etc too. size of the model, file

Kinda what I thought with the big windmill, it's big and moves which the game can't support many of them, plus the lighthouse. I'm just salty about the stone tablet.
But since the 3DS isn't as powerful as I'm assuming the Switch, hopefully the Switch version of AC will allow us to have multiple moving/large/animated (like the tower) because it has more capabilities and can sustain more things like that. Again, I assume, I don't own a Switch yet.
