Alrighty, so, hey. I'm super conflicted. I kinda wanna reset my town (gasp)! But I have half of my dreamies and it's gunna be a pain to re-do that. I REALLY don't like the layout of it (or name- I use it for everything) and the landscaping/house placement I've done isn't doing it for me. I'm also scared to lose my hybrids and stuff like that. Also, for anyone who has done this, what happens after you sell your town to Nook? I'm so conflicted ;v;

Honestly I'm against resetting towns. I used to think my town was ugly too but I worked hard to make it work! And I think it turned out pretty well! You just need to keep going and then try to make the best out of what you have. You're probably going to grow tired of your new town eventually as well so I personally find it hard to believe that resetting is a good solution.

That said, I think I'm in in the minority with this opinion...

When starting a new town, you only have 6 (5?) villagers, so if you hurry and ask for your dreamies again, that won't be a problem. And I don't know if you time travel or not, but if you do, it's easy to get more the lesser dreamies you currently have in your town. ^^

Regarding the hybrids and "stuff like that", you can always ask a friend or someone here to keep them in your town until you've reset and feel like you can have them back. :p

If you even feel like resetting, you probably should. It will be a process to build it back up again, but it's worth it for better town layout and geography.

Honestly, if you aren't happy with the map you chose it's really going to take the fun out of a lot of the landscaping and just the fun in general because having a bad map is an annoying thing. Since there's so many people here on TBT selling villagers maybe getting your dreamies won't be so hard? I have a bunch of blank carts of the game so if you needed help obtaining your dreamies I could even help if I have their cards. As far as losing your hybrids go there's people on here that can concierge and hold your stuff for you! But if your gut is telling you to sell and restart then maybe you should if you've tried everything else but still aren't happy.

I've never sold my town to Tom Nook but if I remember correctly it's almost like a lottery system you can get one lump sum of money or you can get installments put into your account. I think if you take the installments you get more money? I could be wrong about that though.

If you're only on the fence about about resetting maybe try a couple different things first before you do reset. Maybe try an spruce up the landscaping to your desire then if it's still not what you're looking for then you would feel more at ease resetting.

If you don?t like the layout much anymore and want to restart I?d say go for it, you could find people to hold your villagers and hybrids for you so you don?t have to go through the challenges of getting them all over again. I know there are some really nice people here who would help you out either for free or super cheap!

If you think you can make the layout and name work, then I'd recommend keeping it, but if it's just gonna keep getting on your nerves, it's best to get re-setting out of the way before you're a few months down the line and still want to re-set but made way more progress.

I just reset my town this month. Nook will give you an option to either take a lump sum or installments. He offered me 18 mil for a lump sum and I ended up taking the installments option of 20mil. If you do the installments each day he will give you 1% (so for me 200k a day) and after 100 days you get the full amount. Also you can either choose to keep your catalogue or sell it to him for more bells. Mine was only 20% full and he offered me 2mil I think but I decided to keep the catalogue. My town wasn't that great so I don't know if for you it would be worth it but you do get started off in a good place. Make sure you choose the option when you reset to start a town right away! A friend of mine reset and chose the option to make a town later so she didn't end up getting anything from her previous town

skjdsnf omg would you really?? I purchased two of them and only one moved in ;v; that'd be such a blessing

I'm sentimental, so I can't seem to sell my town haha. I ended up getting another copy of AC:NL and just went with that. If you don't like your town though, maybe you should?

I think you should restart your town. If you're always focusing on things you don't like in your town, you're never really going to enjoy playing in it or working on it. I have Felicity and Bruce cards if you do decide on restarting your town, so that's two dreamies down. There are people that would be happy to store your hybrids and other things you might want to keep. I have yet to settle on a town and I got ACNL about 3 or 4 years ago, but I'm finding out the things I like and can tolerate along the way while still having fun. I would walk around your town and think of ways to solve the issues you have with it, and then decide, though. Good luck either way!
