I need help getting Cedars to have twinkling lights...

It is getting close to time to having the Cedar trees light up with Xmas lights.. but only half of mine have them ( Yes, I tted ahead). I know you can't grow Cedars in the southern part of the map but what would prevent a grown tree from having Xmas lights? Is it if they are too crowded or is there a limit of lit up trees per town?

It seems to be random. I just cut down the trees that don't have christmas lights and plant new ones until I get trees that have them.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's random.

I read somewhere that cedars planted after the first of December won't have lights, only ones planted before. Not sure if that is true, though.

from what I've read apparently only some cedar trees will have lights on while others won't.
