I keep having connection errors ~ HELP!

Since boxing day (JST) I have had not one host or visit that has not ended with an error.

I at first thought it was Nintendo screwing up, but then I realised on the 25th I had added my second wifi to my 3DS so I assumed the 3DS was switching between the wifi's because they are on different floors (up and down) and I'm on the second floor. Needless to say, I deleted on of the further away wifi's and yet the connection has been getting worse and worse.

This affects me getting my dreamies, along with proceeding orders in my shop with Kyo, is there any other reason why this may be happening? For a start, my house has one of the fastest wifi's in japan so I do not understand why I keep getting connection errors...

Wait, you're in Japan? I think the issue here is that you are connecting with intl. players, so the connection isn't as stable.

I've never had an issue before 26th of December

Same thing happens when I connect to people in japan even so, the country does not matter I don't think

It must be something on your side then. Do any of your other devices work at reasonable speed?

I live in the US, but I'm having the same problem. I get error code 018-0512, and all of Nintendo's "fixes" are not working. This interferes with a lot if the online play I do, anybody know a way to fix this?
This started about a week ago. Animal Crossing is the only game that does this, I think. Everything else is working find, like the internet and asking for presents. I just cant go to other towns, and no one can visit me.

018-0512 is popping up a lot lately since half december. Once the host re-opened the gate it worked fine after 5 errors. It's probably the Nintendo connection and has nothing to do with the host or visitor
