About 3 months ago I was happy with how my island looked then I decided that I hated it and changed basically it all up and I am not even finished my island yet in terms of decorating. Now when I look at my entrance I want to change it again :( Does anyone else keep changing their mind with how to decorate your island or is it just me ? :( And how do you pick with a certain idea or theme and just stick to it ??

(Edit omg this is my 999th Post)

Honestly, I'm still trying to figure that out. There are a few spots on my island that I'm pretty happy with (museum area and residential area), but for the rest of my island, I still dont know if I like what I've done...

The best advice I got from my friend when I started terraforming is to try to focus on one part of the island and figure out what you want there. It's been difficult for me, personally, because I keep wanting to move around when I get frustrated. I'm a little better, but I still am not happy with my island.

Thank you I have been re doing my island in parts but I have gone back to the front part to "fix it" but I will go back to my section by section terraforming / decorating.

(This is my 1000th post yay :) :) )

This isn't a bad thing!

Consider this: what is there left to do once your island is 100% completed? Not a lot, right? The island design aspect is a huge part of the game so the longer that lasts you the better. :)
Yeah I have always wondered what I would do once I had finished my island but your right its part of the game experience :) Thanks :)

I'm still trying to figure that out myself! Lately I've been building up then tearing right down, trying something else, then getting rid of that too. It's especially bad with all the events they've been having lately- I find it so hard not to want to decorate with all the new items!

to be honest, I am really happy with my island layout right now and I don't have the courage to redo it again because I have changed my decoration so often that I am little burnt right now ah ah but I do understand when you receive new DIYs, new items or new villager, it is normal to change your decoration, so for me it is totally normal to change it according to the season or event ^^.

I torn mine down a million times. I am getting happier with it though. Just takes alot of time. Esp when items and things are locked behind time walls and holidays

I'm starting to think tearing things down more often than not is more common than keeping it as is.
I haven't changed the main concept/furniture of places but I keep on adding, replacing, and moving the furniture/background/foliage

Totallyyyy understandable. I keep changing mine up too. And the second floor of my island is only like 12% complete. The island is so biggg and I really struggle with designing different areas and staying satisfied with what I've done.

I think it is great that you and everyone commenting too keep changing your island. It’s going to keep the game fresh for you, and I bet you will really develop your own style and aesthetic to an amazing degree. Have you posted a dream address ever? I am trying to go and visit more islands, (though I always forget) and I would love to add yours to my list.

Honestly this is me right now. I started reconstructing my island after hating how it looks and it’s been a process. Since I’m tweaking bits, moving places and over-all trying to work out how I want things to look.

What’s really been helping me is that I focus on one section. These could over-lap but they’re mostly one area. I then work on it until I feel like I can’t do anymore. I then just save and exit. Since I can then come back later or the next day and see it with fresh eye if anything bothers me.

To me, it doesn’t matter how long someone island takes. Aslong as you’re enjoying the process and you like how you’re island looks at the end. That’s all that’s matters tbh

I've had that happen to me too. I have a specific aesthetic and plan for what I want my island to look like and I often redo areas many times when I am unsatisfied with the results. However once I get an area 100% perfect I leave it! But if its anything below 100 (like even 99%) I'll redo it. Plus even though its a pain to take down, I enjoy redecorating areas of my island. If you are getting frustrated I recommend taking a break from the game for a bit until you are inspired and excited again to design (thats what I do!)

you gotta remember, too; this game is going to progress as we continue along, get more furniture items, possible food items, etc. etc. so there's always going to be something new eventually to add somewhere. and if you're anything like me, and most of AC players, you like to switch things up a little bit, and inspiration can hit from just seeing an item in a new light.

this is my third time trying to design my island how i want it, and i'm not sure if i'm going to be like it when it's "finished." that's the beautify of having so much freedom. we can mold and scalp our islands as we go, with our inspiration and our motives. i've built areas up completely just to take them back down the next day.

definitely not a bad thing!
