I just realized why there are only coconuts in this game

It's because these are deserted islands and coconuts are able to spread through means of water(ocean currents), which is how they were able to be found across pacific islands. However I could be wrong considering the other fruit that are available on these islands or the developers were just too lazy to add in bananas.
Edit: Also found in the countries bordering the Atlantic and Indian ocean

I'm still holding out hope that they return! Maybe if Leif ends up opening a shop, he not only sells flowers and bushes, he also sells special fruit! Then the perfect fruit gets introduced!! And other bushes, and the rumoured crops! Okay.. Enough fantasising for now... But.. can you imagine it??

Yeah, but all the fruit looks like it's just been glued to the trees.

Bananas had a nice graphic at least.

I think banana is the only type i didnt grow in my village in nl. They look great but i just went for coconuts on my beach. I still want them added back though.

I wish they put lemons in the game!! I was going to name my island Lemon Bay but then I found out there weren’t any lemons in the game so there was no point :/

ahh i remember in city folk i didn’t play with anyone else so i only had oranges (my native fruit) and then one day a coconut washed up on the beach! sadly i planted it wrong and it died but the next time it happened i got it right. it’s nice that it’s not as difficult/you don’t ha e to wait as long anymore and can just get them through islands but i low key miss the excitement of finding a washed up coconut on the shoreline.
