I just realized I’ve probably, most likely…. actually have, been saying her name wrong this whole time.

How do you prefer to call Label?

  • Like normal, it has to be the same as her sisters \ˈlā-bəl \ (don't mess with the trifecta)

  • The French spin way to fit her personality “La Belle” /la/ /bɛl/

  • Other... now I'm curious, please specify!

For some reason when Label introduced herself I read it/interpreted as “La Belle” /la/ /bɛl/ in French and for some reason I just can’t call her Label \ˈlā-bəl \ I realized this because I was thinking about Mable and Sable and how their names were similar but La Belle’s wasn’t until it hit me… it’s supposed to be Label .-.
Personally, I think the way I’ve been saying it sounds better because it fits with her persona (the famous fashion designer she’s trying to be). But I’m curious how have you been saying her name? Would you consider using “La Belle” instead? If she were real how do you think she would say her name?

EDIT: The only other AC game I played besides NH was WW, so it's news to me that at one point in time her name was actually Labelle instead of Label (still not sure where I got it from)

"Labelle", because that's what it was in previous games. I noticed it was different and figured that the pronunciation should change accordingly, but it's a hard habit to break when they're still so similar.

This is funny because instinctively I think I would’ve said label like fashion label, but I actually speak French so now that you said it I can’t get la belle out of my head

I pronounce it Label. When she went by Labelle then I pronounced it like Labelle though.

Labelle was her name given by Gracie when she worked at Gracie Grace in the city. Her normal name is Label which rhymes with Mabel and Sable.

But really, there's no way to tell how you're supposed to pronounce it since they all speak animalese, so maybe you're supposed to pronounce it "laaalbe"?

It's pronounced the same as fashion label (\ˈlā-bəl \) just like Mable and Sable. When she went to the city and worked under Gracie she adopted a fancier nickname, and that's where Labelle ( /la/ /bɛl/) was born. So, her name is \ˈlā-bəl \, her clothing line is ( /la/ /bɛl/).

Now you got me thinking how her name is supposed to be pronounced! I pronounce it label like fashion label but now idk
As other have said, I think her "real" name is label as in clothing label
in the previous game her name was spelled "Labelle" which was probably pronounced La belle
Now she's back to label and explains that's her real name so it's probably label to fit with her sisters more
I didn't know this, she wasn't in WW so this is news to me
I've always said it the french way, sounds smoother to me.
It does, plus I feel like it suits her ambitions
Label, like a clothing label.
She did change her name to Labelle for a while, but then she got over her teen angst, or midlife crisis (who knows), and is now back to her real name Label.
😂😂😂😂😂
I get it, but I just can't stop saying LaBelle

Oh no! Sorry! I think it's supposed to be just regular Label

I never played CF, so does the game actually address this? It being a nickname? I'm just curious, personally I like LaBelle better, and a big part of it is that I like the characters to feel like individuals. I sometimes call Mable, Maple so that is sounds slightly different than Sable's name.

I'm with the others. Label is her actual name, but Labelle is her business name and fashion line ^^

I think she would WANT you to say it all fancy and stuff, but I just say Label. LMFAO

I'm pretty sure her name is pronounced as label the same as mabel and sable, but when she went with gracie or someone to pursue a career in fashion she took on a french version which was labelle c:

I called Label "La Belle". My brother asked me who I was talking about, and when I told him, he told me her name is "Label". I still call her La Belle.

Yeah, that seems to be the consensus. I still like having her be different than her sisters so I'll keep calling them labelle, maple and sable or how I endearingly call her cutie lol

I agree, but I'm glad to her that she's owning up to using her real name Label as well!
Don't know if you actually call her this but 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂

Did she do it on her own or did Gracie give it to her? I didn't there was a Giraffe in the AC world

I think I will forever call her that... I'm not a fan of someone being named label... people irl try their hardest to get rid of 'labels' so I guess that's what I relate the name label to.

I know it's "label" but I always say "La Belle" because of NL. Mable and Sable are real names. Label isn't to my knowledge so it just feels too weird to call her that, even though Obviously all the Able sisters would have names that rhyme with Able if two of them do and the third could use that pronunciation.
