I have a question about pokemon breeding. Everstone not working?

I'm pretty sure both of my froakies in daycare have protean, but regardless i know i put everstone on one that definitely has protean. But somehow i'm getting mixed batches of torrent and protean? Why? D;

Everstones don't pass abilities, they pass natures I think.

60% chance to pass HA if the female has it, lower chance if it's just the male. No bonus for both parents having it. Since your female has the HA, expect 40% failure rate on passing the HA.

A male with HA breeding with a female without HA will never produce a HA offspring iirc, so in those cases, you need to pair the male with a ditto.

well i mean, at its origin at least, it was meant to be marketed to children.
like me, when i was like 10 years old and i would wake up every saturday morning to watch xD
its just grown exponentially through the years.
