I have 10 villagers - what happens if I invite someone from the island?

Will villagers even show up when doing nook miles ticket tours, if I have a full town? And if so what happens if I want them to live in my town - will it just kick someone out at random or what? Please and thanks in advance!

The islands won't have villagers, but you can still invite campers in. They'll randomly choose a villager to kick out, but you should be able to close the game and reload before the decision is final.
