I hate weeding day.

o.o!! i had no idea that the weeding day awards are sets! >_<... ugh, that's what I get for being a newbie. OTL... I only had like 3 weeds in my town, which was sad. (I did manage to get a Violet Screen, Lily Record Player, and Cosmos Fan for all 3 of my characters though...)...but how many items are there to this set?

As someone said earlier this is impossible if like me you only have one friend with ACNL (and they barely play) .... I don't have any way to visit other towns to pick weeds

I hate TTing, I picked weeds (I thought clovers counted!!) and there were apparently only 3 in my town, so all i got was the lily record player. I felt cheated so I TTed back to get the topiaries. Again, even though I only TTed within one day, I was terrified someone would leave or I would screw up. >.<
Agreed. I looked over the list of prizes beforehand and decided it wasn't worth changing my ordinance. I wanted the topiary PWPs, even if I never use them, so I just found someone selling the only two items I wanted in the TBT Marketplace: the lily record player and the violet screen. (I like the sofa, but my house is a major WIP plus my inventory is full. I'll wait and see how things develop first.)

I'm the same I don't like weeding day. Why is Isabelle treating it as a holiday?! I want to start a new project. I have no weeds to pull up so I can't ''enjoy'' the festivities as there aren't any to enjoy!!

Yeah, I really dislike Weeding Day too. The set is in my opinion the hardest to get in the entire game, which is why I bought it.
Oh lord, so much this. I had no weeds, so I unlocked the topiaries, but I couldn't start any PWPs that day because people were too busy NOT weeding. I was like, gurl what? Let me get back to work, Isabelle!

ikr, I haven't loaded up my mayor in weeks (I play on a side character), and the ONE DAY I want to build a PwP is the ONE DAY they're celebrating a pointless holiday that I can't celebrate because apparently clovers aren't weeds >:C

I have beautiful town ordinance but I still occasionally get weeds, so I just save them for weeding day and tt back and forth haha
my freaking villagers rip my weeds out of the ground with beautiful ordinance :c
i just bought the set from someone on here for 300tbt bells because I like it & I like the topiary projects too

They do that without Beautiful Ordinance as well, but maybe they do it more often with it on?
I have never experienced such a soul-crushing moment in Animal Crossing as when I was trying to grow weeds out and I witnessed a villager slowly make their way to a lone weed and pull it from the ground. It's so painful to watch. One time I watched someone pull a weed during the title screen. All my villagers live in the East and South of my town; weeds never lasted more than a day there.

Technically yes, but I believe it works the same as it does on Weeding Day in that you can only get the 4 items in your own town and the rest of them have to be in other towns. Also on Weeding Day, every 30 (?) weeds is an item, whereas for the minigame, you have to pluck all the weeds for one item (but I believe that if there are multiple participants, each person only has to pull one), regardless of how many there are, and you at least need 50 to start the game. So I guess it's not as easy?
I'm not entirely sure about the mechanics of the weeding minigame either, like sometimes you get a hybrid seed bag instead, right? I think it's time-based but I'm not sure on that.

I have heard that the hybrid bags are only on weeding day. I, myself, have never gotten the seed bag from doing the mini game... even the times I did it myself and didn't host an event.
But the event is timed... And it is easy to get 4 people ((counting yourself)) together to weed it. I think the longest event I ever had lasted 10mins... And it normally has around 200 weeds... And most of the time I'm not even weeding but cleaning up the town since it's my cycle town and most of the time people want the badges. XP
You can always trade with people who join you, too.
I think I traded a rose sofa for someone's lily lamp since they already had it and I already had a rose sofa. =3

From what I understand, only half the items are obtainable from your own home. The rest MUST be weeded from another town. Still dunno how that works, does it have to be Weeding Day in the recipient's town as well as the host?
