it's one of the only things that really annoys me about this game. house placement is a pretty important part of landscaping, but there's no easier way to control it? you have to make and delete like 100 characters to ensure part of your town doesn't get wrecked. ugh.
this is just a vent topic since it's been half an hour and i can't get Kiki to move into a good spot :/ i might just give up and let her move wherever lmao
Putting tiles down everywhere really does make it easier. I still start with a new character when I do that just in case there's an area that I forgot about. It does take some time to put them all over town, but even then it does go so much faster than the old way of restarting and hoping for the best.
You can still time travel to the day before and place paths as long as you haven't loaded with your mayor yet. Sometimes I forget a tile or two to prevent plots going on my flower patches and that ended up helping.
Oh I hate plot resetting too, but I think villagers tend to find that one horrible spot to place their house. I had a house in front of the ramp to the beach once and built a pwp near there as soon as I got them to move.
Even if you've missed a few go back to the day before and place them down. that's what I've done when I miss a few areas and the game is none the wiser
It's annoying but really satisfying when the house eventually ends up in the exact spot you wanted it.
When I was plot resetting for W.Link, I covered my entire town in paths leaving only one open space where I wanted his house, after about 25 resets, he just kept moving into the space where the previous villager lived, so I just gave up and decided to not plot reset it anymore as it's obviously locked. So then I logged in on my Mayor character knowing the plot would be set in stone, and his house had actually plotted in the place I'd wanted it. Didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
I don't even plot reset anymore.
Since I know where I want my villagers will always be a spot someone has lived on before, I just lay the patterns down.
I have found that if a villager is stuck moving in the same spot, I turn the game and console off and it helps reset it or something. It has worked for me a few times now!
I hate it too! It's extremely annoying and frustrating. I'm still trying to unlock all PWPs first so I held off on villagers atm. I might purchase Amiibo cards to obtain villagers I want. I heard it's also easier to plot reset villagers scanned with Amiibo cards?
