I hate how people rag on people who don’t like the usual “dreamies”

Most of the popular villagers on my list were there from before a popular villager list existed, and the less popular ones are there because I like them, too. I don't particularly care about tier lists.

I saw a streamer pass on Raymond specifically because of how much people love him, and make weird art of him. I saw another streamer be frustrated that Raymond was their forced Campsite villager, because he was not weird enough to fit in on their planned island.

Everyone's tastes are different, and everyone's tastes are valid.

There’s this girl who streams island hunting that’s Czech and she’s hilarious. She passed up Raymond and other popular villagers because she wanted Clay. It’s funny seeing how riled up people get.

I think in general people just shouldn't give others a hard time over what villagers they like/don't like. Popular or not. Because it's also just as annoying when someone calls another player "basic" because they like some of the popular villagers, which I've been seeing happen fairly often lately (I don't mean on this forum, just to clarify).

OP, I feel like that youtube comment was not rude and it was just a tone of surprise because Antonio is a villager you don't hear about that often. I've never seen people get judged negatively for liking more obscure villagers.

I'm just having hopkins chill with my high tiers and I have no plans of kicking him out ever, I've gotten attached as you can see, it's nice you have some low tier villagers that you like, they need more love but I personally won't have a villager I don't like in my town

People like whichever villagers they like, I don't think you should care about what other people think about it. Like people disagreeing and saying another villager has "more value" shouldn't put you in a bad mood. Otherwise you're also letting yourself be influenced by popularity.

If everyone had the same villagers/dreamies, the game and each person's island wouldn't have any flavour anymore. I'm sick to death of Raymond, and starting to be bored of the sight of the likes of Merengue and Zucker. That's part of the reason I opted to just let whoever live in my town.

It shouldn't matter at all how "popular" they are either. It's sad people take the time to even comment stuff like that lmao like it's not your game

Alot of liking towards villagers comes from both nostalgia and popularity hype, it's just down to personal preference at the end of the day, and everyone's game is their own. Some people choose to take wanted villagers home to help people, or to profit from them, and some just want to be a part of a community and share that they finally found their dreamie. I would rather work to hunt the villagers I want, but some people would rather pay, or just moan, I guess?
Just let people like who they like!

Toxic people have always existed, the internet has just made them more prevalent because of the free speech and anonymity of the platform, sadly it will never go away, it’s just human nature, no matter how much we try to change it, but it doesn’t mean that we have to put up with it.

Just brush them off and remember that childhood phrase of sticks and stones that our parents taught us, because that’s all the are at the end of the day.

People are so dumb sometimes like its literally a game with animal characters, and all animals are cute?? Like everyone has their own town and own villagers and their own opinions on who they like and dont like. How they play the game is (or should be) very subjective. I'm a big advocate of creating your island for yourself and not for others. YOU should be your island's #1 fan!
