I HATE diving /a rant thread

I hate diving because it takes forever for the things to spawn. I can swim around for ten minutes and not find a single dark circle. If they spawned more frequently it wouldn't be such a pain for me.

I've gotta agree here that I'm not a fan at all of this either. The creatures don't even sell for that much anyway. I feel it has a ton of potential though and can be improved in the next game.

i totally agree. diving is so exasperating sometimes. there have been so many times where i was chasing after a big fast shadow, and right before i can get it, it disappears. there have also been countless occasions where they go past the rope right when i get really close.

I agree it can be a little annoying trying to catch the fast swimming sea critters. I tend to swim away from the ropes. The jellyfish sometimes freak me out since it's so sudden! XD I do like swimming, though. It's peaceful.

I hope they put it in the next game! It would be extra cool if they added more undersea creatures. I have a feeling in the next game they will make an underwater option which lets you scuba dive and let you explore underwater. Just a thought! What would be even cooler would be able to visit those tiny little islands that we saw on Happy Home Designer and putting things like PWPs on them. Expanding the town sea would be nice and adding things like trenches or caves would be impressive.

Yassssss! That'd be so great!! Trenches and caves would be amazing. <3

I could definitely see where someone would find diving frustrating and tedious, but somehow...I find it kind of relaxing? I don't know, I guess it's because I'm not really diving competitively or hoping to find specific/really good items so it's easier for me to enjoy.

It's amusing to me that this thread got bumped back up just as I finished diving again, haha.

I like the idea of diving, but that's all, the IDEA. Why, just WHY something that could have been very original and interesting had to be ruined by such bad programming? It's been long ago since I completed my diving-pedia, but I still remember when that happened I didn't feel any joy. I only felt liberated because I didn't must to do that ever again! Unless I wanted, of course, but duty was already full.
You swim too slow, you dive way too slow, and holding your breath is not enough. But even those could have been overlooked if diving was a fair play, which isn't. Preys going beyond boundaries, where you can't follow? No my friend, that's totally a hit in the face and it's NOT something to enjoy

What makes me mad about diving is those giant, fast-moving shadows that ALWAYS go under the rope and stay just out of reach. It drives me insane!

How have I not seen this thread before.

Why they decided to implement a mechanic that included not being able to see what you're collecting using only a shadow size like with fishing, having the creature capable of running away from you like with bug catching, ridiculously short windows of opportunity to catch things, hindered movement with a limited amount of time underwater (I mean who can only hold their breath for 10 seconds, give us at least 30), the creatures are capable of running into areas that you can't get to and there's hostile jellyfish that can spawn directly in front of you so you can't avoid them. Its like they've taken all the tedious mechanics from the other collections that were bearable by themselves and rolled them into one particularly annoying new feature.

I love the fact that it's new and interesting and they're finally making good use of ocean but just like grass deterioration in ACCF it needs some serious fine tuning.

diving was a great idea for the game but i do agree it sounds tedious if you're trying to complete the encyclopedia

but imo i never really had a problem with diving. i especially like diving at the island, it feels more beachy and resorty there. the wetsuits were also a great idea, theres so many :) i hope they expand upon the diving feature in the next game, hopefully fixing it up a little since it is kinda tricky.

Diving is torturous, I can't stand it. Some things seem impossible to catch, they can literally outswim you. How do you catch something if it's 10x faster than you?? And don't even get me started on jellyfish, those little ******** are some of the worst things in this game. Some Grade A troll must be cackling in their dungeon somewhere knowing they created those monsters.

I don't even think it's about button mashing, it's like you have to go at it in a rhythm. Even when you button mash I thought it doesn't go any faster. I can't remember the last time I went diving though loool

This is the only thing I hate about diving, otherwise I love it. Also, why can't we check our pockets while diving? That's annoying sometimes.

THIS. I have lost many new catches because my pockets were full and I couldn't get any more.

Honestly though, diving is so tedious. Diving is the only reason I still don't have a completed encyclopedia, that damn spiny lobster kept getting away until winter ended.

I absolutely love swimming. And diving in the game feels like the opposite of swimming. You push the button and push and push.

I always feel constricted and stifled when diving. It doesn't feel like floating. It doesn't feel like swimming. And I wish we had a roped off area to just swim and have swimming games with friends, and then - "if you dare" - you can go out into the deeper waters. That's how it works in real life. Lol ;)

Isn't it called Deep Sea Diving? ha ha ha ha we're like 5 meters out from shore. lol

The fast ones that swim immediately under the boundaries make me rage quit and never want to dive again.

ugh i hate diving

especially when youre going as fast as you can (which isnt very fast), but then the creature goes ourside the boarder and ugh

how about instead of being bitter about something optional, you could just not do it?

I hope they abolish this ridiculous method altogether in the next game the end
