40$ on a game I have already. But I really wanted a cycle town. And I feel guiltily and I don't understand why. Help? Do u think I made a good choice as I wanted one for a long time! :)

Second copies are useful for cycling and time travelling to get items from events that maybe you missed. Don't regret it. I would get one too if I had extra money.

I wouldn't if i were you. I have enough money to buy an ACNL copy and I would much rather spend it on something more productive (no offense cyclers). I'm very thrifty so my opinion is kind of biased. But with school still in the middle of the way I don't think buying another copy right now would be smart. Stick with your main priorities.

I would advise you to think about it further -- in 2 weeks, in a month will you still want to have a second copy? Would you still use it? I saved like $100 a year with that philosophy lol :u

If you feel that you did, and you are very happy with your decision, its 40 dollars well-spent. Don't listen to the negative guys above. I'm also thinking of getting a second copy. I have been saving up, and I thought a second copy would be a good treat c:

I'm not trying to shun down Luckypinch here. I just want people to be reasonable before making hasty decisions. $40 is a lot of money. I have never once bought a game unless I researched about it first (not spoilers, more like reviews etc) before I make my purchase. I've once got 2 copies (borrowed from a friend) and it was honestly a chore to handle both towns while still doing school stuff and relationships.

^ This *claps*
Anyway 1 acnl copy is enough already plus its just a game. It's just a cycling and that won't kill you, reality can why? if you fail you are dead, if you have a problem in real life then do something about it PLUS you are just wasting your mom's money

It was my birthday money anyways

You feel guilty for buying a second copy? I bought a second copy AND a second 3ds :P not to mention that they were the JPN versions... For on ?120 altogether which I think is a bargain.

Money is money regardless of how you obtained it.

Um. No. Stealing isn't a good way to obtain money.

Also I personally think having a second copy at the whooping price of $40 dollars is pretty darn dumb. You essentially paid $80 dollars for the AC experience. I had two copies but it's because I got one for free from a friend and that copy turned into my other friend's copy. But it's your money so no one can really tell you how to spend it.

How did you go from "Money is money regardless of how you obtained it." to stealing? lol,

I feel like it's one of those things you should do with money you worked for yourself! So you kind of know how difficult it is to get that money and are sure about the decision.

If you want to have a cycle town, it's totally your choice! I'm too obsessed with one village to be able to manage two but that and costs aside, there really is no downside to having two or more copies. In the end, money used for enjoyment is money used for enjoyment and I don't see why it would be any smarter to blow it on a night out or something, haha.

Eh, why not have multiple copies if you're really invested in the game? I don't even know how many Pokemon games I've got but it's far more than any one individual should really have.

I've occasionally considered getting another ACNL game so I could replay the early-game (don't wanna restart and lose all my stuff/museum), but personally I know I couldn't handle two towns, not the way I play. I guess cycling's different since you're not trying to maintain relationships with villagers or town quality.

Lol, oh I never realized how many pokemon games I have... at least two out of each gen/remade gens.... gotta catch em all!

Personally I did talk myself out of a second ACNL, because I really only wanted it to cycle for one villager. But, there are plenty of games that I own in duplicate... like Skyrim and Fallout... have them on ps3 and PC, because once I was introduced to modding, and discovered that my computer could actually handle the games... well, I haven't looked back. There are other games that I have for console but would never waste the extra money to have a pc copy too, because those games aren't really something just play enough to warrant it (a few aren't moddable anyway, but that's beside the point).

Anyway, if it's a game you enjoy, then play and enjoy, and don't worry about it. It's only a waste of money if you aren't getting any enjoyment/use out of it.

If you had been wanting one for a long time, then you made the best choice for yourself.
Good for you.
I've had 2 games since release (June 9th) and I don't reget it at all.

I really wouldn't. Why buy a game you already have? I honestly think thats along the lines of wasting money.

I'd say you should do whatever is in your heart! I, for one side, think that having two copies of the same game can be fun - you can do whatever you want to the second copy, and play the game in a completely different way without worrying too much on whatever you already got.

Yeah, you could use the money in other ways, but what good does this make if you are not happy with those ways? You have to think thoroughly, and if you really want the second copy, go for it!

Honestly, if having a cycle town makes you happy, then get the second copy! Sure you could spend the money on other things, or save it or whatever, but it's your money and you should do what makes you happy. If having two copies of AC makes you happy, then I'd say it's worth forty bucks.
