I found a way to find dead spots without wasting bush starts

I plant trees where I'm planning on putting bushes. If the tree grows then I know it's not a dead spot. And to keep from wasting tree saplings, I plant the tree using my native fruit (which in this case is cherries)

I'm pretty sure a lot of people have figured this out, but I just wanted to share it anyways

You're welcome. Yeah, it might be tedious and annoying to wait the next day to wait to see if the tree grows, but I honesty think it will worth it to make your town look the best.

I can't stand these dead spots. There's one in the middle of where I put my orchard and it looks ridiculous. The orchard isn't even exceeding that tree limit by acre, it's just three spots where nothing grows and it looks awful. But that's a neat trick to discover dead spots, thank you!

Someone helped me with this exact same problem a couple months ago. I would probably have to look through 50 pages to find the thread, so I will tell you how to deal with it here.

That bare spot may not be a dead spot...mine wasn't. This takes a few days, but for me it was worth it. Cut down the orchard trees either to the left or the right of the supposed dead spot all the way to the end of the row. Plant one tree in the bare spot next to the last healthy tree (you know, two spaces away from the healthy tree)...the next day see if it has begun to grow. If it has, plant one two spaces away and repeat this process daily until that bare area is filled in and you have continued to plant your fruit one tree at a time to the end of your row.

I hope this makes sense, and that it works for you! I hated that bare place in the middle of my orchard, too! It's gone!

Hmm bamboo works too? I've never gotten far enough in Animal Crossing ever to even use bamboo.
