Now before I begin I'd like to say the game is amazing its a huge improvement over the others and I'm still playing it. But is there anyone else out there who expected it to have more? If I were to mention all of the stuff this would be a wall of text that no one would like to read but to name a few,

Holidays, It seems to me they should have put more effort into the holidays in the game and frankly I find it stupid you cant get all the items in one go you have to do some of the holidays more then once to get all the items. And I just wish some of them were way more interactive and maybe add a few more holidays.

Island, The island gets boring after a while and they should have made it a bit bigger. It needs a small island hut like the game cube game and more island games to play on top of that you should have been able to wifi connect with 4 random people people on the island not just the one.

Fireworks and interactive fireworks/ It seems they just put little effort in the in game fireworks there is literally only 3 designs that get launched up and whatever one you can make. They should have made many more to make it amazing. Another thing the fountain you get while a great addition, they should have added more interactive firework items besides the roman candle, sparkler, and fountain.

Reds fortune cookies: simply put once u get the items he becomes pointless he should offer more fortune cookies of different items on different times he shows up, and he should sell you fireworks.

Day to day tasks, They should have included more mayor duties or things that encourage you to get on as much as possible, Maybe like in the game cube one you have to turn the light house on for a week because Isabelle can't. Stuff.

I could make the list longer but no one will want to read that. Its already too long. But do not get me wrong guys I love the game and it does have a lot of stuff to do and it deserves all the high raitings and I am still playing it. But i just expected it to have a little bit more. Thoughts?

Hehe, I actually read that. It's ok, I always make wall of text post too. XD Can't help it. Here goes.

I agree on some of it. This is my first AC game, so IDK how the others were. From watching LP's and reading about the others, this one seems much improved. I love it, and I've been addicted to it for 10 months. I AM running out of things to do, so I get what you're saying on some level. And ya, I have a lot of issues, if I were to nitpick, but I think it just makes me excited for the next game in the series. It'll be even better hopefully.

You can, actually (well, 3 others anyway). It's just more common to be connected with one other person, but I've been connected with 3 other random people before.

i didnt expect more in those regards really

i expected a LOT more from villagers. not horribly recycled dialogue and watered down personalities.
****ing shame on nintendo.

Same, the animals seem to be getting neglected despite the fact that the game is called Animal crossing. lol. Nintendo better step up their game when it comes to the animals personalities because right now every time I speak to one it kills me to hear them just repeat the most generic and short sentences possible. It makes me not even wanna play the game sometimes...

I didn't personally expect more since I've had animal crossing for a while but now having the game for 5 months I agree there is a bunch they can improve on. Most of the things in your text mountain I agree with and hopefully Nintendo is taking notes from their fans.

This. I hope next time around they give them MUCH more variety in the dialogue. Also the catching a voided villager through wifi thing KILLLLLLS me. Hah! What d'ya know, I guess I do have some complaints...

Oh yes I forgot to mention this. The villagers need a lot more dialog they don't seem as alive anymore. And the mean ones aren't as mean anymore

Compared to the other AC games, I think this one is definitely a huge improvement. I sort of agree with what you're saying, but this game has still impressed me a lot and I'm still enjoying it immensely. I don't think I really expected more.. There's only so much they can put into one game. :)

Actually, one thing that has kind of disappointed me is the villager dialogue/personalities. They were so much more interesting in WW or in the gamecube version (they're better than CF though). So that's too bad :( I also miss Blather's rambling when you donated to the museum, and I really, really miss Celeste's observatory. If they would have added constellations back to the game the night sky could have looked super pretty :3

OH also: the balloon series irritates me. Balloons used to drop completely random items (with a small chance of a Nintendo item). But in NL you always get a piece of that ugly balloon set. I don't even bother popping balloons anymore -.-

About the dialogue. I have a theory. There is the same total amount, from among the villagers. But remember, there were TWO NEW PERSONALITIES they had to write for (And one of which is by far the best female personality. I love the tomboyishness of the Uchis. I think they have the best dialogue in the game, as well as some of the best designs!)

Oh my gosh, I agree with all of this 100%. Especially the stuff about dialogue and holidays, there used to be so much more variety. Do you guys remember the morning aerobics in the GameCube version? That was cute as hell. One other thing I wish that they would add to the game: the ability to make certain villagers stay in your town. I know that they won't ever do it, and that there's good reason for it. They're trying to keep us playing as often as possible. But it freaks me out sometimes when I'm not able to play for a few days. But overall, SOOO many improvements have been made throughout the series. I'm excited for the next one (:

Ooh I agree, they should have kept the cool things from the older games...like the random items in balloons, messages in bottles, the lighthouse, observatory, IDK what else, but those are things I've heard about that I would love to have seen in ACNL.

Wouldn't it be great if they asked for fan input on the next game? We all really agree on some of these points. I'm on 3 or 4 different ACNL forums and tumblr, people always say the same things. Nintendo should pay attention for the next game, cuz I think most of us will be sticking with the series.

Like others have said, they can only put so much on one game. They added a lot in New Leaf just by having you be mayor. Think about it, they had to make all the PWPs, and there's a lot of them. This is why I think that Animal Crossing Wii U (if there is one) will have more. They have a lot more space for data, and more time to come up with new ideas.

Yes Dewy! Blather's rambling was one of my fave things too! I can't believe they got rid of that his name is even BLATHERS!
Lyra, I know right I miss random balloon items I don't like it exclusively balloon set. And I miss the message in the bottle.

3ds cartage has a whole extra gig of data they could of added so there was a lot of room and some stuff they took out of the game they should have left in. and the downside to a wii U one would be it's not portable and I couldn't take it with me everywhere. But it would be amazing on a console like that they could make a wifi hub or something.

It seems like dialog is the first thing to get trimmed back when games make room for new features, and that's sad. I agree with a lot of your criticisms, particularly all things dialog and villager personality related. I'd give up a few newer features for more diverse and characterful villagers.

Something people keep missing is there was plenty of room on the cartage nothing had to be given up.

I expected more from villagers, considering how much more dialogue there seemed to have been in WW (also I wish the snooty/cranky villagers were still as mean as they were in WW lmao... but I get how they had to tone it down for kids)... but overall ACNL still exceeded my expectations haha
