I expected... More?

Whilst dialogue and holidays are a big problem, theres smaller problems that need to be addressed, smaller in terms of being programmed, but for some a huge inpact on the game.

The biggest issue I think is that tan needs to be optional year round, I know a lot of poc players who literally put their mayor on the island while they sleep to maintain the tan. This is a game about customization, why make someone play as a character they don't look like?

I just remembered something I actually expected of the game and was sadly disappointed. Being able to talk to your friends through the mic already provided. UGGGH I remembered playing city folk with my friends and them talking through their mics and I wanted one but realized you had to buy it. I looked at the 3ds on targets website for so long and realized that it has a mic and thought that I'd finally not have to type but that was not an option she said disappointedly.

I sort of agree... Its a huge improvemnt on prior versions so its good. I do understand where you are coming from though. There is always room for improvements. I do hope for the next version they do not go back to a stationary device. Now that i have thr 3ds i see how much the city folk was a limitation. I did not hop on as much becausr i had to turn on the tv and the wii. 3 ds is so much better.

Just remember guys, the Wii U can hold a lot more data on a disc than the N64, Gamecube, DS, Wii, and 3DS. I'm sure the next one is going to be fantastic, and it's probably going to be revealed later this year when Animal Crossing Plaza shuts down.

Yeah, I totally agree this!! Especially with the mayor thing, cause I feel like there's not even much work as the mayor :/
And I think that all the countries should have the same holidays, cause then everyone coul get those cool items c:

I agree with all of the stuff from the original post and how the villagers need more dialog! Especially make it so the same personalities aren't so similar! I have talked to one cranky who repeated the same phrase twice and went over to my other cranky directly after for them to say the same phrase T-T It would be nifty and they had a few more personal phrases specific to them! =3

Yeah, it would be so cool if there were actually more responsibilities as mayor. Like if your villagers had some sort of complaint or issue they could come to you about it and you'd have to resolve it. Or you could create laws/town rules for the villagers to follow. Or run/create events and celebrations and organize activities.

I remember something that I expected the game to have but it didn't: To me, the previews for the game made it look like you'd be able to turn the camera angle while you're outside, not just inside. I was really looking forward to turning my camera around to look out over the pretty sea. ;-; I also thought that meant buildings would be able to face any direction and you could just easily turn the camera angle with the d-pad to access them. I think it would have added a lot more depth to the game if they'd added this. But the buildings always face the sea and your camera angle always faces the train tracks. Oh well.

Some of those ideas are good but they're not really priorities for me so I can't speak on how much I'd want or wouldn't want them in the game. I wouldn't want more enforced mayor duties, I'd like to keep them optional, so if Isabelle told you she couldn't work at the lighthouse for a week you could say no without any negative consequences.

For me, the biggest issue are the animal personalities and dialogue. I think they could be made to be less repetitive and give you more options when talking to them. It would be a lot of work but it could be made to depend on more factors than just the 8 personalities... or adding more personalities to have more variety. I haven't been playing for as long as some of you have and I'm already disappointed in this. It seems like talking to villagers of the same personality type is almost exactly the same thing, no matter how different they look.

I totally agree on the dialogue. I would love to have different options while talking to them, and for them to have different reactions. I love all of my villagers, but I am starting to feel like it's more fun to design my town than to interact with them. I spend more time putting up bushes and flowers than actually doing in game things that involve my villagers.

The one thing I really wish they had in New Leaf was Blathers talking properly!! He is so freaking adorable when he goes off on one of his little tangents and they've completely killed him for me now that he can't. I mean, he doesn't even say his catchphrase ('wot') in any of his dialogue, except when he is rating your town at the town hall...

I also want Celeste back properly. She's so watered-down now, and you can't tell her she's cute any more ~<3

Also, Resetti. I know you can get him back but he just says one or two lines and then leaves you be. I want him to rant at me for a good 5 minutes like he used to....

I honestly would love to see more holidays that were more interactive, and that the villagers had more dialogue in general. Having more space around the town would've been nice to see also so that you could have more than 10 villagers in one town.

Same here. I like making up personalities for them to make them more detailed (in my head) but lately I've found myself just decorating their gardens, sending them things, stuff like that a lot more than I talk to them. I'm mainly talking about the ones I actually want to keep. With the ones I'm moving out if given the chance, I talk to them because in a way I'm going to miss them, but at the same time I'm getting burnt out on having the same conversations over and over again.
