I don't understand the appeal of Peppy designs

Honestly I love all but a few. Pretty much just Diva and Canberra, are the only two I dislike. I love Cherry, Muffy, Shari, Mira all being in my top 10 villagers, and there are even more Uchis I love the designs of.

Also, I REALLY dislike the Peppy dialogue. (I think Peanut saying she would rather be popular than appologize killed the personality for me. Because there is being a bit mean, and then there is just THIS)
 
But did you see the uchi(sisterly) villagers? at least the peppies have more varity, in my opinion. I am conflicted about Apple, she is scary cute lol.

sorry to bring up tough times, also hippeux wasn't even on my radar. i mean... i've heard the rumors-- legends even, but i never thought such a beast could truly exist.

What I love about the Uchis is that all of them look cool and tough (except Gigi). That also goes well with their personalities.

I really respect that. I think it's the makeup-emulation that throws me off, but I get the appeal behind them.
Re: the dialogue- damn, that's horrible! I've never seen that one before. I think I'm biased towards the personality because I was best friends with Tangy as a little kid- but as I've gotten older, I can definitely see why people dislike the Peppy dialogue.

...a lot of people LIKE cutesy, lmao. i wish a lot of the animals were cuter honestly. i think theres room for goofy and weird designs, but it'd be nice if more of them could compete with sanrio, hell maybe "popular" villagers wouldnt be so expensive if more of them were cuter haha

I wish the peppy dialog didnt lean so hard into the pop star thing though, but i feel that way about the jocks talking too much about muscles too. the cranky, snooty, and lazys all really benefit from having more smoothed out personalities, it makes having doubles less weird.
 
Ehhh, it's all down to personal taste and I love the peppies tbh. You mentioned Tammi for example and I'm not really into her design, but I do like Apple & Peanut. I also love Sprinkle, Dotty, Ruby, Puddles, Bangle, Chrissy, Chai, Pinky, Bunnie, Flora, Cookie, Bianca, Wendy, Nibbles, Rosie, and probably more!! You also said hippos are a favorite species of yours and you don't like squirrels, but for me I only find 2 of the hippos appealing and probably love all but 2 of the squirrels. This stuff is all super subjective honestly and that's one of the nice things about having such a wide variety of villagers, there are different designs for everyone to enjoy.
 
There are a few who are less "rah rah cheerleader girly". Victoria looks like a race horse, Tammi has rings around her eyes that look like e-girl eyeliner, Agent S is a superhero.

The peppy personality could do with a little more tweaking in the dialogue department because right now they suffer compared to other personality types who feel more real, but that's not a knock on the villagers themselves.

completely agree with you. the jocks always talking about their muscles annoys me, because their whole personality is just muscle. i also want more cute villagers too.

I love the Gorilla designs. Top 5 species in the game for me even alongside Lions, Hippos, Octopi, and Monkeys.

Difference? I actually can take certain cute things, and I feel Judy is JUST the right level of being cute without being annoyingly so the way most Peppies are (I feel the same way about Brionnie from Pokemon). Even then she's a Snooty, so I don't have to hear that awful Peppy dialogue from her.

its sad because theyre real sweeties otherwise! i remember liking a good few of them in the GC game a lot

This! I totally agree with you!!! Definitely feel like there arent enough good looking villagers. Yeah, I can see how the whole pop star thing can get annoying.
