I didn’t think my bug nemesis this month would be the cicada shell

i got it last night for the first time and i was like "why did this just show up now" how am i getting the rare beetles first before this... is it rare?

Same thing... the cicada shells seem hard to find... caught pockets full of cicada's and stags already, but no shell :|

I got it yesterday and I was very surprised that there was an achievement for catching this thing specifically. Makes me wonder if it's actually supposed to be rare because it obviously took no effort to get it once it showed up...

I just got it yesterday as well, it seems to be rare which is weird. Still only seen it once so far.

Best to look for it when it’s raining since flower bugs don’t spawn.

I've not seen a walking stick or a cicada shell either. I think I'll have to find another island for those two at this rate haha.

The giant stag has proven to be a pain as its active hours and mine are completely different. Going to have to go on a late night beetle hunt soon.

I don't have any new bugs because.. southern hemisphere winter, but when I was on my friend's northern hemisphere island, I kept scaring those thick beetles. I think it was the horned elephant beetle? The worst. lol

Same... this one and fly seem to be the one I just can't get to spawn... Same with the walking stick unless it's basically invisible by now.

I got it at around 5:30am on July 1st. I was too excited to catch the new bugs that I woke up really early. I noticed that most rare bugs spawn at dawn... to me at least. I got the scarab beetle and the giant stag at around this time too.

I had to go to a Mystery Island at night to make it spawn. It still hasn't appeared on my island, but luckily I don't need it anymore.

The fly spawned pretty easily for me, I just put out a lot of trash (tires, boots, cans) for a little while... The walking stick has a pretty narrow window of timestamps where it can be found, and I really need to 'make' time to hunt for it someday

I’m still behind on 4 of the beetles despite like 3 days of effort catching them on mystery islands....I got all the other bugs already though.

I’ve seen someone say before that it helps if you put trash nearby a building and then walk in/out of the building since it resets spawns. I found mine randomly on a trash boot I had laying around though
